Try to find something u like for instance, if u like grass start a lawn service if you like little kids start a baby sitting service and so on so forth Hi, I am the Mom of a son who is almost twelve and I have suggested to him to consider the following: Pet walking, Pet sitting while neighbors are on vacation, or gone for the weekend.(They pay you to feed, walk, and play with their dog.) yard work, mothers helper. I've paid older children like yourself to play with my younger children and supervise them etc. while I'm working in the home. Blowing, weeding, stacking, sweeping, watering, raking, mowing,picking, any or all of these people will pay you for. Dog walking is huge for working couples. My suggestion is to produce a flyer with these ideas on it, add some of your own if you want, ask a high schooler to guide you with it, and then post it at the local churches, be sure to tell everyone you know what you are seeking to do, and ask them to refer you to other people they know. If they get you a job, give them a small "Referral fee" for their effort! Kid's will love this easy money! It's never to early to start learning how to market yourself and your skills. Offering animal care - bathing the dog, brushing, picking up the yard waste, sometimes people will even hire you to play with their animals if they're too busy, it gives the dog the exercise and attention they need. A paper route is a great job for a 12 yr old. My children had them and made some really good money doing it.
Make job fliers describing what job you can do (yard work, babysitting, etc., etc.) and distribute them out to neighbors. Don't forget to put your phone number on the flier.

we'll I'm 16 years old and i have a job at burger king it's not the best job but for right now as a teen you can work some where that's small of some sort. i don't like my job at burger king because they didn't teach me everything i was suppose to know because they work at a fast pace specialy making the burgers they want you working top speed. but I'm hanging in there showing them i want the job but it's not where i want to work but at the end of the day you still get paid. p.s make sure your boss gives you enough hours and come to work on time and watch your schedule or that will mess you up. just stick it out is what they tell me. good luck
How long do you have to be an intern to become a fashion designer?
It is all relative.... I have friends who graduated 2 years ago and are still interning. It's very competitive and there are so many graduates every year. Unfortunately this means only the rich kids whose parents can fund their living costs are the ones who get ahead. A friend of my cousin's has been interning for 3 years and has only just got a job! But that was in advertising. If, like me, you don't have help from your parents it is best to save up as much as you can for 2-3 years living costs (I worked out about £900 per month for everything - rent, travel, food, tax, bills, property insurance, phone - in London) So I need between £20,000-£30,000. Or if I can't save up that much in time (as I still don't have a job) I could work a night job at a supermarket or bar/pub but would be scraping by but the weeks approaching fashion weeks will be very intense - I've had friends working 12 hour days... so you might not be able to fit a paid job around this.
Generally speaking internships last periods of 3 months and you can stay or move to another one. Always keep your options open - if you befriend someone who needs assistance styling a shoot, offer help even if you have never done it before. The fashion community is very close knit so it's best to get a lot of experience because you could start in design but end up a stylist or a PR. I have a friend who is working in PR now after 3 months interning in a design team.
What is the tuition at the fashion design school?
Well the price can vary depending on the school you want to go to. You should also take into consideration cost of living, books, supplies, food, gas, ect. If you're living on your own. I have a friend who went to FIDM/The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and the tuition was around $27,000 for the year. Now FIDM does offer scholarships, loans, grants and financial aid to help with the cost of tuition and they are great in helping students who are passionate about fashion and talented afford the tuition.
What are the working conditions of a fashion designer?
It depends... If you've got a small business of your own with few to none employees the work load can be overwhelming, money is often an issue for smaller design companies, long hours at the office weekends included and it's important that you've got the know-how to manage more the just the design. You will be a part of the production and the business aspect as well. However if you work for a larger design company you will probably just be in charge of the fashion designing. This is usually also time consuming cause you'll work on multiple collection at the same time. Always need to be able to meet your deadline.

How is killing animals for fur animal cruelty?
Indeed it is. They take their skin and fur and create an expensive coat for posh, rich ladies to wear. That is one of the GREATEST reasons why there are so many endangered animals and extinct! Take for example the tiger = it's skin is beautiful and many hunters think that too so they hunt them so now there are basically ZERO = 0 tigers left in the wild. Very sad don't you think?

People wear fur clothing because they think it is more fashionable then fake fur and they usually don't care about animals.
People wear fur in cold climates because synthetics do not offer the same warmth and comfort value. There are many places in the US (outside of Alaska) where the temperature falls into the single digits and the windchill into the negative. Fur is simply a smart choice in these areas and the decision for people to wear fur in these areas have little to do with fashion. If properly cared for a fur garment can last several lifetimes (which is why these coats are often passed down from generation to generation) making it a more environmentally and financially sound purchase decision. Fur Coats are not Dry Cleaned with chemicals but instead cleaned through abrasion (generally saw dust), so their is no ongoing damage to the environment through the regular maintenance of a lifetime piece. From an ethical standpoint, some people prefer to wear a coat that has sacrificed an animal rather then one that has sacrificed human lives (American Soldiers who continue to work to secure petroleum for our 'fashion' desires) and also because long term, it is less damaging to the environment then synthetics. Call it the lesser of two evils, but their are a number of sound reasons for the wearing of Fur.

It depends if you mean on a small individual scale or a large commercial basis.
The most important things you need in all cases are :
- an idea of who you are designing for (market),
- samples of fabric or type of fabric that you may use*,
- something to draw with and something to draw on (or computer software) and a way of showing colour
- visual references for inspiration or fashion (might be of anything)
- a basic understanding of anatomy and physical constraints of clothing. It is possible to work this out as you go if you carefully investigate what the implications of your designs are using fabric, and/or the toiling process.
Also:
- A dress dummy of some kind allows invention of styles, through draping and pinning, that would not otherwise be possible.
- Sewing equipment or dressmaker (sample maker). In almost all cases, except maybe fancy dress and unless the outline is quite simple, it is good to make an working version ('toile' say twarl) of the designs in fabric. Alterations that are then made to the design are considered part of the design process.
- Most people use a figure outline ('croquis' say crok-ee) to place under the page when drawing fashion.
- Designing clothes very often involves the designer "selling" their idea to someone who says 'yes, I like it, lets make it', whether this person is someone internally in a company, or your friend that you're designing a wedding outfit for. Presentation drawings are produced more neatly and clearly than initial design sketches, using pens, computer software or art materials that will represent the ideas well.
- A tape measure or ruler can be useful.

This is a reference to help with questions such as how the fabric will drape, how will the fabric behave if I put gathers in the design, does it have stretch ... etc that will come up when you are designing. Sometimes in the fashion industry, sophisticated software is used to try and solve these questions.
So for equipment, a person could sit down with only a pen & paper, a swatch of fabric, and a coloured pencil and produce clothing designs. Clothing design is a game of prediction and art, so for good design it is the knowledge of technical aspects and social (fashion) understanding that go into the design as well as more importantly creative expression - whether showing love of colour, texture, sculpture - that the designer brings to it that make it a better standard rather than tools such as special drawing equipment.
