Yes you can. But in practice this rod is meant for smaller fish. When fishing you should ideally match your gear to your target species. this will prevent damage to the equipment and damage tot he fish (for example the rod may snap leaving the fish dragging around a broken rod until it dies).

In general a rod capable of handling larger fish should be used when carp fishing.

The fishing season in Ontario depends on the fish you are trying to catch and the area you are trying to fish it. Some species of fish have specific seasons and others are open all year.

For species specific fishing seasons consult the Ontario regulations for the zone you live in.

The reasoning/justification for this probably went something like this:

1. This state has conservation programs to preserve wildlife habitat so that hunters can continue to hunt game here.

2. These conservation programs are paid for partially by taxes.

3. Non-residents can get hunting licenses and hunt here, but they don't pay taxes.

4. We should increase the cost of their hunting licenses to make up for them not paying taxes.

Live minnows work best, but many are taken on the various type of jigs, made for this species, that imitate minnows.

You can make it as simple or as complicated as you wish:-) I'm in the UK, so am able to fish around the Med several times each year, as a part of vacation trips, and the methods vary very little from country to country. If you are in an urban centre / city, it is possible / probable that you will be able to take part in organised fishing trips on board a boat, which can be anything from dangling a line overboard to big-game fishing. Most fishing probably takes place from shores / breakwaters, in harbours etc ... and remember, tides are not really an issue in the Med, as for all intents and purposes, they do not exist!:-) Fishing methods can range from the lightest rod that you own, with a naural bait (virtually anythiung edible!), to a powerful rod capable of casting 5 ounces (160grams) well over 150 yards / metres .. or anything in between, including the full range of lure / baitcasting rods. It REALLY is that flexible .. take what you have and simply enjoy yourself .. like the world over, you'll find that anglers talk to each other:-)

Mackerel are normally caught by using a net. An alternative to using a net is a sabiki rig on a light weight rod with 6 lb to 12 lb test line, which originated in Japan and consist of a line with 4 to 6 small hooks dressed up with bright colored skirts of some sort of reflectant material. Sabiki rigs could be purchased at most sporting goods stores and tackle shops. This is a great way to catch mackerel and sardine off piers and docks. For best results when fishing off piers and docks is to cast it using 1/2 oz to 2 oz depending on currents and retrieve it slowly giving your rod two quick jerks and winding twice alternating. Mackerel is great bait fish for bigger sport fish such as Lincod and Wahoo.

in the uk you can fish in the sea all day long but the only broblem is there are size limits for fish so you can only catch them bigger than the limit

There are a number of ways to get an assessment of the value of a vintage fishing reel. I'd begin by doing a search on the net to see if I could find any appraisers or dealers in vintage fishing equipment. It will give you a chance to test or even refine your search skills. Next, I'd find some big fishing stores across the country and call a few of them to see if they can put me on to a dealer in vintage fishing equipment. There is, of course, eBay, but you can only compare things they have posted, and they might not have a listing for what you want to put a value on. It is possible to use eBay to contact the actual buyers and sellers of the type of things you are interested in having assessed to see if they can be of help. I've done that, but eBay is kinda quirky about emails between members when they don't relate directly to the buying and selling of the items posted. I won't tell if you won't, though.... Oh, I almost forgot. With the popularity of collecting so MANY different things increasing, books on collectibles and collecting are coming out left and right. I'm not sure if I've ever seen one specifically on fishing reels, but there are a lot of books that have a variety of sections, and you might find one with a chapter on reels. Again, check the web, and be sure to visit your local book seller. If you have a good used book dealer in town or at least close enough to call or email (and all of the are close enough, aren't they?), you might be able to hook up just what you need. Good luck.

Well, according to the Christmas special. I think Bryn and Jason started hugging and doing inappropriate things. That is what i think but nobody will ever know. Apparently , after an interview with Ruth Jones and James Cordon, Smithy and Nessa, The script writers, said that they don't even know what happened and they just followed basic storyline. While live (suckers, minnows, leeches, maggots, worms, grubs) or dead bait (suckers and minnows) tend to be moresuccessfulartificialbaits are very effective as well. Many have scent added to them to make them more attractive to fish. An added advantage is that they are easier to manage while fishing than live bait.

== == == == Liver works well for catfish, as does a dough made from breakfast flakes such as Wheaties and milk. Also canned corn will work for several species of fish. I've heard of people trout fishing with the tiny colored marshmellows, and have used frayed cigarette filters as "flys" to catch bass and bluegills. Catfish will also eat marshmallows, hunks of cheese, and even small pieces of Ivory soap. Mullet and Carp will eat canned whole kernel corn. Any type Brim and some catfish will eat pieces of hot dog wieners. And moist, balled up bread is good for brim,. One thing that catfish will eat that is much tougher (although not near as smelly as Liver). But if you take any type liver, puree it in a food processor, then soak the gizzards in this for a cpl days and it will "bloody up" the gizzards. Also, to hold on liver, take women's panty hose, cut in say 3" squares, put a hunk of liver on this, wrap it up, then tie the panty hose closed with a rubber band. Chicken hearts are also good and can be subbed for the gizzards.
