Okay, unusual question. If you go fishing and use live bait, you probably store your bait inside a refridgerator. I always wondered why keeping them cool would keep them alive since the dirt they're in is already on the colder side. Anyway, I'd say unless you want them to reproduce like crazy and get a fly farm (yeah, maggots are baby flies), about a month, more or less. But like I said, unless you want a bunch of flies, keep checking every so often. Good luck!

I assume you wish to go fishing in the lake of a public park? Such lakes are subject (in the UK) to local bylaws. So contact the local council, or enquire at a local police station for advice.

(Bass are NOT bottom feeders. Bass eat smaller fish, crayfish, ducklings, frogs, mice or any other critter that falls in or lives in the water. Bass are predators, not bottom feeders like Catfish, Carp or Tilapia. Bass are excellent fighters, and are good to eat as well. Every fish tastes different and some people like them and some do not).

Prawns can be caught in the oceans and saltwater estuaries around many countries.

Chicken works best for me. Or shrimp.

Fishing in Florida is a huge industry, from commercial to sport fishing, both salt and freshwater.

Fish are definitely in danger, due to over fishing, pollution, and man kind. Fishermen fish for fish and continue to fish for fish that is not needed. People pollute to water and litter, so animals cannot breathe in the water and cannot get out of the trash they get stuck in. People need to help take care of the ocean and fish.

I believe they are open year round. I know there are many signs posted near bridges and potential fishing spots.

Yellowtail are the most sought after, maybe the most prolific and perhaps the most finicky of the snapper family. Yellowtail can be either very rewarding, or they can make you want to pull you hair out. So break out your spinning rod loaded with 12 to 20 pound test and use a #2 or #4 short shank hook, and put on shrimp, cut ballyhoo, or fresh bonita. Use only enough bait to cover the hook. Start a chum line, and drift your bait with the chum, making it drift as natural as possible. (it must look like the chum) Yellowtail also eat jigs! Use small jigs and preferably yellow or chartreuse. You can also use sand balls, but typically this will produce smaller fish. They can be caught on shallow patches, reef line and terrain or wrecks out to 150 feet. The hottest spots will be 50 to 95 feet of water, and the best time is spring and early summer.

In Ohio you have to appear before a judge.., in other states you could get arrested for having no fishing liecense if you get caught. For example in Florida you could get arrested because the fishing is really good there.

Added: In most (all?) states, fishing without a license is a misdemeanor, punishable by up to 1 year in confinement and up to $1,000.00 fine.

I wouldn't recommend it, they are to soft and ice fishing is much about feeling.

Ice rods are significantly shorter than a standard rod. It is much easier to feel a very subtle bite with an ice rod. Also, the reels are usually constructed to work in cold conditions, the rod line guides are usually sized to not freeze, up, etc.
