Antisan is very good for treating the bites, or Calamine lotion, which is also good for chicken pocks!!! Cats and dogs pass on fleas quickly!!! Treat before a big problem occurs !!!

Not only do you need to get the fleas off your cat, you need to try to prevent re-infestation. There are many preparation and medicines for that purpose - like once-a-month pill or topical preparations. There are shampoos and dips and flea collars. Be careful when using chemical/medical controls that you follow instructions and check for interactions before using more than one chemical or medicine. Also talk to your vet about what would be best for your cat.
Use flea combs. Comb her several times a day to help get rid of the fleas. It is a non-chemical method and works very well.
You need to de-flea the house, too. Fleas on the cat are always laying eggs that drop off wherever she goes. Frequently vacuum the rugs, floors and furniture paying special attention to her favorite spots. Clean her bedding. If the house infestation is severe, there are pesticide products available that work on fleas. Follow directions carefully.
