check with GMC. There was a recall that came out about that and you can go to the GMC recall site and get the exact reason. Need to take it in though. Jerry There are other things that you can do first fairly easily. Sounds like fuel system problem. Change your air filter, your fuel filter, put in a bottle of Valvoline Synthetic Fuel Cleaner and change spark plugs. If your Envoy has done 100k miles on the same spark plug wires, change those too. Use only OEM wires. Also change your emmissions equipment, such as the EGR valve, PCV valve, O2 sensor and breather filter. Unless you have the other part that plugs into your garage for this, you will want to replace it with a newer unit. This can carefully be released from its holder and the more modern 3 button type can go in its place with no modifications to the car. All Cadillacs from 1980 and up should be pre-wired for it. I usually slide a butter knife between the bottom of the opener and the plastic housing to release the lock tab. If your not sure on your first time, you can also simply lower your map light housing by removing the one Phillips screw in the center near the windshield. You can then look inside it and see the lock tab that holds the opener inside the map light housing. The newer openers are still pricey at the dealer, but can be found on places like eBay for 30-50 dollars.

My 2002 GMC Envoy won't start,no lights come on when trying to jump start the battery. And my key won't remove from the ignition. What's should i do?

What exactly are you concerned about? There is one called the speed sensor which operates the speedometer and abs. There is also one for the cam and crank signals. Which ever you will need a multimeter with an amp probe to test them.

Take it to your local trany shop and they usually will take it for a test drive at no charge & give you an idea of whats up. If you don't know the shop, take it to a few and get a 2nd, 3rd & 4th opinion. They should be able to give you an idea without ripping it apart. The evil ones will try to talk/pressure you into having it removed and at that point you have no choice but to get them to fix it. Get a FIRM WRITTEN quote before you get work done and check out the shop to make sure they're reliable before the work gets done.

what cause a 2006 gmc envoy Denali to cut off wile driving

Just replaced a front sway bar link on my 2000 Suburban 1500 LT. I changed the oil yesterday and noticed one link was completely missing. The sway bar is a piece of shaped steel pipe attached to the frame. The link is a pin and rubber bushings connecting the sway bar to the wishbone to which the wheel assembly is attached. The wishbone allows the wheel to move up and down while riding on the coil spring and attached to the shock. The sway bar link seems to limit the wishbone travel to how far the steel pipe will flex.

I bought a Moog brand replacement link kit from O'reilly/Checker auto parts for under $25. It included a long bolt, locknut, tubing that slides over the shank of the bolt, four rubber bushings, and four bushing washers.

Normally, you would install a bolt from top down, but I noticed the factory link was installed from bottom up. Holding the bolt thread up, slide a bushing washer on the bolt cup side up. Slide a bushing on the bolt with the nipple side up. Slide the bolt upward into the hole on the wishbone. Slide another rubber bushing on the bolt, nipple side down, followed by a bushing washer, cupped side again toward the bushing. Slide the tubing over the bolt. Slide a bushing washer and bushing, nipple side up, on the bolt. At this point, the weight of the vehicle was compressing the coil spring enough that I couldn't fit everything below the sway bar. Jack the car up enough that you can push the bolt through the hole in the sway bar. Lower the vehicle until the weight is carried on the tubing and sway bar bushings. Place the final bushing, bushing washer, and locknut on the end of the bolt. Tighten just enough that a full thread appears above the locknut.

There are 4 oxygen sensors on the 2002 Avalanche, located on the exhaust pipes directly behind the engine. You'll have to put the truck on a rack or crawl under it to see them. Two are located on the left side of the exhaust system, with one on the engine side of the catalytic converter, and one just behind the converter. There are two more on the right side of the exhaust system in the same location: one before the catalytic converter, and one after. You'll be looking for a "tap", or an insert into your exhaust pipe, with a single wire coming out of it. The wire is connected to the oxygen sensor, which is screwed into the "tap".
