Where is drain plug 2001 gmc sonoma?

If you're looking for the Oil Drain Plug. It should be located on the bottom of the oil pan. If looking for the Coolant Drain Plug.

If needing to change the coolant/anti-freeze you can remove the lower radiator hose on the bottom of the radiator. **remember to let the vehicle cool before working on as coolant burns are very serious and difficult to remove quickly with water **.

Make sure that you collect the old coolant, it will need to be disposed of properly [not into the ground] and take a water hose and place it inside the top of the radiator to flush the system . once the system appears to run clean of all coolant , replace the lower hose and refill as desired. once full, crank the vehicle with the radiator cap off and continue to fill. this will allow the water to flow and release any air pockets that may be in the system. once full and constant flow is assumed, replace the radiator cap .

How do you install a 1991 gmc sonoma windshield wiper motor?

First: Take the hood off by taking out the 2 hinge bolts on each side. Next: Take the wiper arms off by prying up on them. Next: Take the 4 screws out of the front water channel of the air intake cowling that is under the wiper arm connectors. Then remove the larger bolt on each side next to the hood hinges. Take off the cowling and the screening under it. The connection nut on the wiper motor shaft is right in the open. Take it off, unbolt the wiper motor, install the new one and replace everything in the same order as taking it off.

Oxygen sensor bank 1 or 2 location on gmc canyon?

the GMC canyon doesn't have bank one or 2 it is an inline engine, there are two oxygen sensor however, position one and two, one is the sensor before the catalytic converter usually closer to the head, the second one is after the cat pos 2. if number 2 sets a code it usually means u have a bad cat, people try throwing sensors in but 10/10 doesn't fix it, the sensor monitors the gas coming out of the cat and usually doesn't vary. if position one is bad it will set a code as well, some of these codes set have an updated calibration for the computer that you would have to have programmed at a dealer. pos one is easy to change as you open the hood and on the passenger side of the truck on the exhaust manifold it is right there, very easy.

2004 GMC Sonoma won't start appears to be a fuel issue Can anyone give me a starting place?

If you think it is a fuel issue, make sure the fuel pump is running. Turn on the ignition key and do not start the engine. If you listen very carefully in a quiet area, you should hear the pump run for a few seconds. If it is running then replace the fuel filter first. If it is not running, replace the fuel filter and check the fuel pump fuse and relay. In rare instances, the ECU can be bad and cause the pump to not function. You may end up having to run a fuel pressure test to see if the pump is working properly. Good luck/.

The GMC Sonoma 4x4 uses a 5x120.7 lug pattern, their are many wheels that will interchange with the Sonoma and S-10. Camaro, Corvette, El-Camino, Caprice, Impala, Le Sabre, Trans Am, and various models by Jaguar are just a few examples of interchangeable wheels. How do you replace the brake bulb of a 2002 gmc sonoma?

Are you referring to a tail light bulb or the indicator light on the dash? i am assuming you mean tail light bulb because that is most common. In that case you typically have to remove the tail light assembly, which should be just two screws from just inside the box where the tailgate goes, there may be screws in the light itself. if there is just two screws in from the inside then you have to pop out the other side careful cuz the other end just snaps in. once the tail light is removed then you figure out which light is bad, and the socket should just screw out by turning it counter clockwise about a quarter turn.

make sure the bulb you replace it with matches perfectly, and if its double filiment to put it back in the right way because some sockets will let you put em in wrong which makes em have a bright tailight with a dimmer brake light.

hope i helped

How do you remove wiper arms from 2001 GMC sonoma?

I had this problem today with my 2000 Sonoma. There is a black plastic cover over the wiper arm below the hinged portion. This plastic cover is hard to remover because it is tabbed at the base (didn't know this until I removed it) and is hooked around the spring loaded hinged end. I pried up this outer portion and was lucky not to break it but the plastic is flexible enough to let me abuse it. Getting the end free enabled me to pull this end up and remove it from the base. Once I did that I could get to the nut that holds the wiper arm to the wiper motor. Removing this nut enabled me to remove the wiper arm and see that the splines designed to keep the arm from slipping had stripped out. Hope that helps others. Bill M.

How do you properly engage a 1994 gmc into 4x4 mode?

Depends on what exactly you have. If you have a push botton, you can just push the 4HI botton and you will be in 4-wheel drive in high gear. If you want 4LO you have to put the tranny in Nuetral and then push the 4LO button. On some models you have to be in 4HI before you can put it in 4LO. If you have a standard shift transfer, you have to put the tranny in Neutral before you can shift the transfer into 4HI or 4LO. If you have manual lock-outs on your front hubs, then you must put BOTH the tranny and transfer in Neutral, then lock in your front hubs, then put your transfer in 4HI or 4LO.
