If you the customer are seeing this, it is basically looking for the downstream channel/frequency that has the decryption authorization and guide data on. Customers often see this after a power outage which forces the cable box to look for its need information from the company. This process is usually very quick unless there is additional problems present. Call your service provider if the box stays in hunt mode or try power cycling the box yourself.

Dual-link means that you can have a higher resulotion then with a single-link cable, but you can still use a single-link DVI cable in a dual-link DVI output.

It sort of depends on what you mean by "Red and Green Lines", but....in general, I would say that your color wheel is going haywire.

I have been having the same issue with my Mitsu WD52. My red lines are like rotating waves of red snow that are half-arcs (whoa...hard to explain exactly!).

It does not happen all of the time but seems to be readily evident when the screen is all white (maybe it does happen all of the time, but when color is on the screen, it gets blended in or something).

I am sorry that I do not yet have a fix for you as I am in the exploratory phase of trying to figure out what to do about it myself. All of the research that I have done seems to lead to a color wheel issue.

I've re-programmed my tv as we're in another state and now it says I need a password for programs G and over but I don't even have a password and it won't let me even get in to change a password because its password protected. I've never had this problem with it before. Please help

Flicker free means that an image is free of flicker. A well set up 3D television should be free of any noticeable flicker. Sometimes a flicker can be noticed when batteries in the glasses are discharged. Charging them usually fixes the problem right away.

Note that LG promote their passive 3D televisions as being flicker free. Although they use passive glasses, they also deliver just 50% resolution compared to active 3D televisions. This is the compromise for having glasses that don't have batteries.

It depends on the LCD you get. LCD, Plasma, and Rear Projection TVs all come in various models with different capabilities. If you're looking for the highest HD picture capability you can get then look for a TV that can handle a 1080p signal. 1080i and 720p are also considered high def, but 1080p is what you're looking for if you're going for Blue Ray, XBox, upscaled DVDs, etc. There's really no reason to not get 1080p unless you're really strapped for cash. One thing to think about with LCD is breakability. Yes, they have great pictures, but the monitors are actually pretty easy to break if you accidently drop or run into them with something.

Here is the "no" part of it:

LCDs have three tiny liquid crystals for each pixel of the image. One is used for red, one for green and the other for blue parts of the image. The crystals change character when a voltage is applied and using polarising filters they block or pass light through them. The crystals themselves do not emit light.

And for the "yes" part:

The image that we see is created by lights behind the sheet of liquid crystals. When a crystal passes light, we see it glowing. Obviously, the whole system uses emitted light from the back lighting in order to work but the light source is distinct from the image generation.

The back light has been fluorescent lighting but in 2010 there are now many models using LED illumination.
