What pain relief is there after radical neck dissection?
I had a radical neck disection on May 22nd 2008. I have chronic pain in my shoulder and arm - and sick of taking the narcotic pain medication.
My surgeon didnt seem to believe that i could or should have any pain after this surgury - he is of no help in this area at all.
My primary care Dr. suggested I begin taking LYRICA - I've been taking 50mg 3x a day for about 2 weeks now and it does seem to help. I do still find days that i feel I need something else like advil and that seems to help in addition to the lyrica. However LYRICA takes a while to perform the full benefits - weeks sometimes as I've read. So maybe there is hope!
Lyrica does help but doesnt completely relieve the pain- and after all of the research I have done looking for an answer to the relief of the chronic pain in my shoulder - I would do anything to have just one pain free day.............

Can a dying root of a tooth cause facial and headache?
Technically, yes. It's called a parasthesia. The Mental foramen, located in the lower jaw runs thru a hole in the jaw just below the second bi-cuspid and first molar. If this is a lower molar, and you have neglected it to this point, it is my opinion that it could affect that nerve root that is in the lower mandible. My advice is to see an Endodontist or Oral Surgeon AT ONCE. Do not ignore this. I was a registered oral surgery/Endodontal/Periodontal assistant (RDA) for 12 years. An infected tooth can turn into gangrene, and cause blindness, even death, IF IGNORED.
Heartburn is not a symptom of early pregnancy.
Our bodies change every 7 years so you could have eaten something such as peppers, cucumbers, onions or even garlic that may have caused heartburn. If you are a nervous type of person you could be suffering from acid reflux. If you 40 plus and your heartburn is continual it is best to have a good physical by your doctor to be sure you don't have heart problems. Indigestion/heartburn is common during pregnancy but is not a 'sign' of pregnancy and does not usually occur until the end of the second trimester (28 weeks or so).
if you are having your period on time and it lasts the normal amount of time then you are probably not pregnant Heartburn/indigestion occurs generally in the first trimester and the last trimester. Many women get it late in pregnancy as the uterus pushes the stomach from underneath and the hormones relax the smooth muscle. While many doctors recommend Tums because of the calcium, the extra calcium can actually cause Acid Reflux. So try to stay away from that as a solution. Try something all natural, like Brioschi or Gingera. Gingera is greatest because it's got ginger in it...which is known to help relieve the nausea and indigestion from morning sickness/indigestion.

Does lindt chocolate give you headaches?
Yes, Always. I had three globes - two white and 1 dark - 36 hours ago, headaches started yesterday evening at 24 hours. I kept waking up last night and slept after one panadol. I woke up fresh this morning but the dull ache behind my right eye still lingers. This is not the first time it has happened so I have begun documenting the episodes. For full disclosure I get migraines when I have too much of Cadbury milk chocolate, coffee and certain Indian spices. These I avoid or take in moderation. By far Lindt chocolates have been the worst offender. Even small quantities trigger a migraine
