I was using Xanax exclusively for flying. On my last trip to China I took a pill and the next day developed a severe ice pick headache on the left side of my temple shooting towards the ear. This lasted for 4 months. I did not make an association with Xanax at the time. I thought that the headache was a result of being in the high altitude in Tibet for 2 weeks as we ascended to the Everest base camp. When got back to the US, consulted my neurologist 2 times as the ice pick throbbing would not go away. He said no worries, had an MRI, all normal.
Recently my mother was visiting, I gave her Xanax for the flight back, she slept like a baby for 12 hours only to wake up to an ice pick headache on the left side of her temple, just like mine. It has been a week now that she has suffered this horrific headache.
In the meantime, to cope with my headaches I totally stopped drinking any caffeinated beverages and started drinking a gallon of lemon water to get rid of the toxins. My headaches are gone, but it took 4 months after the last Xanax to get rid of them.
Since I stopped any caffeine intake, my panic attacks are completely gone as well. I sleep better and I have lost a significant amount of weight due to stopping of the blood sugar fluctuations that coffee produces. Stopping my tea rituals in the morning was the hardest thing I have ever done, much harder psychologically than physically. My advise: Dear Friends quit Xanax and coffee see if you can heal your ice pick headaches
Is it typical for a child to not be able to differentiate between a headache and nausea?
For young children, sometimes it is. Headaches can cause bad nausea, (I got headaches and would eventually puke). Young children are sometimes afraid to tell an adult about their headache, and then their stomach will turn, causing them to claim their feel "yucky". Since children are obviously not adults and had little experience in this area all they know is they don't feel well. They may complain of a tummy ache from too much junk food, but seldom respond to the word 'headache." If they had been hit in the heat for instance by a baseball then they would tell you their head hurts.

What illness has the symptoms of dizzyness headache and feeling like your going to pass out?
Feeling dizzy is not an illness, but a symptom of something else. It is often the result of an inner ear infection. If there are problems with the inner ear, then one may feel dizzy. The inner ear is responsible for balance, and the labyrinth may become infected. This throws off the sufferer's co-ordination and balance, resulting in frequent dizziness.
There are many ailments that can bring about the symptom of dizziness, including heart circulation problems and irregular blood flow. High or low blood pressure can often bring on a bout of dizziness.
Blood flow is a major factor in bouts of light-headedness. If there is not enough blood flowing to the head, dizziness may result. For example, when you stand up too quickly or have eaten a heavy meal, you may feel dizzy. This is because blood pressure has fallen sharply. In these cases, the condition should only be temporary.

Why does air conditioning cause headaches?
* Dehydration. * The cold causing muscle contraction. * The cold causing blood vessel contraction. * The air conditioner may be circulating stale air, chemicals, or other allergens from a ventilation system that hasn't been cleaned out properly. * The noise the air conditioner is producing may be sending out a frequency you are unable to handle.
In the case of migraine headaches, air conditioning may be a problem for several of the above reasons. One of the problems in the summer for migraineurs is the intense temperature extremes they may experience that can trigger a migraine.
