Can arthritis result from Pegasus Interferon treatment for Hepatitis C?

actually, arthritis is listed as one of the side effects of the medication. See www.pegasys.com Important Safety Information.

For the last poster to just shrug off the question with a vague response is not helpful at all and why it was even posted is beyond me.

Jeff says: I believe it is a far more frequent side effect than Roche would have you believe. Worse, if your Hep C is not cured by the interferon, it is dangerous to take the "biologics" that the rheumatologists (sp?) like to prescribe - they suppress your immune system.

I took interferon from 6/08 - 12/08. It was and has been one awful nightmare since. Neither I (nor my doctor apparently) had any idea how bad it could get. I now have psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, nail dystrophy (just gross and humiliating rotting of the nails), and am slowly getting crippled. It is 12/10. I don't know what I am going to do or how I am going to survive. I was strong. Now I am crippled and my life has been robbed from me. Interferon is very, very dangerous.
