What is the difference between the 5 way Kenwood KFC-6982ie and a regular 2 way speaker system?
5 way is the amount of speakers that the system has connected to the receiver unit.
What is the difference between optical amplifier and repeater?
Difference between Amplifier and Repeater
1. Amplifier is used to magnify a signal, whereas repeater is used to receive and retransmit a signal with a power gain.
2. Repeater has an amplifier as a part of it.
3. Sometimes, amplifiers introduce some noise to the signal, whereas repeaters contain noise eliminating parts.
Replacement of gas in plasma tv.?
There is no economical way to replace the gas 'pixels' within a plasma TV. If it is broken and the gas escapes, you should dispose of the TV in an enviromental manner and purchase a new one.
What does a HDMI audio and video cable do?
HDMI is a type of video interface developed to carry high definition video signals. Additionally, HDMI will support standard definition video and carries audio as part of the signal. The cable provides a convenient method of carrying video, audio and control signals between devices without the need to use multiple wires.
HDMI is also compatible with DVI, a video display interface for computer displays. Unlike HDMI, DVI does not handle audio so the compatibility is limited to video only.
HDMI supports an encoding system known as HDCP. The encoding is designed to prevent unauthorized copying of video content and increasingly commercial content is using the protection system.
The orange and green is the 12v feed from the auto shut down relay. The black and white wire is the wire the computer grounds.
Can cable boxes be connected to home theater projectors?
Yes. You can connect them with composite, component or HDMI cables. For the best results, use the HDMI cable, if your projector has that type of input.
Where to connect a equalizer to a 6 output car stereo?
Not to the outputs. A band-pass equalizer works on input signals. To put it simply: if your stereo is the source of the sound, you would have to open the stereo up with schematics of its electronics in hand and find a suitable place to "pop in" an equalizer. If your stereo is only taking a signal from some other device and amplifying it (in essence doing the job of an amplifier with external signal source), put the equalizer between the source and the stereo.
Please note that an antenna is NOT an "external source" - the radio frequencies are decoded INSIDE the stereo, and only then produce a valid "input signal" - all within the electronics of the stereo.
What is the purpose of valve ports?
The purpose of Valve Ports is to let exhaust gases out of the cylinder and to let air and fuel mixture into the cylinder!
What are audio adapters used for?
Audio adapters are used for converting a plug into another style of plug. Audio adapters simply help one change the input plug of a certain system to a different input plug.
How do you repair a sound bar?
If you are not familiar with electronic repair, I would contact the store that you purchased it at and see where an authorized local repair depot is.
How do you know if a speaker is magnetically shielded?
You need a receiver with an HDMI output, such as the Sony STRD series of receivers. Your '5.1 Surround System' sounds either like a surround speaker set with no amplifier, or a system designed for computers. The Sony receivers will amplify passive (non-powered) speakers, but the subwoofer will need to be powered. You will then need to purchase a DVD or Blu-Ray player with an HDMI output.
Alternately, you can purchase a Blu-Ray Home Theatre system, which includes the BluRay player and receiver (1 unit), and matching speakers. The Sony BDVE systems are a good place to start.
Is there any Internet lcd or led tv with picture in picture double tuner?
The Samsung D8000 series are LED Internet-ready TV's with dual digital tuners.
Will there be a lag between the Optical and analog or headphone sound outputs of a smart TV?
The way that digital video and audio signals are handled, processed and transmitted allows delays to be added at almost every stage of the signal chain. The delays are of unspecified and changing duration. This isn't a problem as long as audio, video and other time sensitive data are kept as part of the same signal. When the audio is removed from the video signal, delays in either video or audio can become noticeable and disturbing.
It is possible that any of the audio outputs of the television can lead or trail the video signal. In most cases, the television will make adjustments internally to ensure that both are synchronized but this isn't always the case. If a discrepancy is noticed, it is worth taking a look in the set up menus to find settings that can adjust the delay. If no setting is available, this may just be a feature of the model. It is often worth a call to technical support for the television as there can be a variety of causes and solutions to the problem.
How many speakers would you need for a quadraphonic sound system?
In theory, four. 'Quadro' means 'four'. It's a four-way system.
In practice, anything between four and six. Designs with a center and a subwoofer are sometimes called 'quadrophonic', because they don't truly receive a 5.1 signal, but rather - derive the low frequencies using band-pass filters, and get the 'center' signal from somewhat-merging the front-left and front-right together.
Do keep in mind that anything driven from a stereo output is stereo, no matter how creative the hardware designers get. Pay attention to the number of jacks you get with a particular sound system - a 5.1 system will have three or four (good quality systems will also sport an S/PDIF connector, through which a 5.1 audio signal encoded using Dolby DTS or some other system can be sent), and a quadro system should have two stereo jacks.
Also, remember that in order to get more than two speakers, your amplifier/primary stage/device/computer must also feature more than one output for this purpose. If this is a PC, the software used for playback must also support these features. Regardless of the device, the source (DVD, music file etc.) must also provide more than two signals encoded on them, in order to enable quadro, 5.1 or 7.1 speaker configurations. If the DVD you're playing has only stereo sound, you'll only get stereo.
How do you insert optical audio jack?
The square plug lines up with the slot only one way. Gently place it in the jack and rotate it while applying light pressure until it lines up and pops in
How do you hook up netgear neotv streaming player to a surround sound?
If your surround receiver has HDMI, connect an HDMI cable from the NeoTV to the receiver, and then HDMI out the receiver to the TV. If you don't have HDMI on your receiver, you can connect an optical cable from the NEOTV to the surround receiver.
How much wall space do you need for a sony home theater system?
It really depends on what model you are looking at. Different models require a different about of space. A good way to get started would be to check out the models you're interested in, read their specifications, and go from there.
Is there any way to adjust or fine tune convergence on a LCD rear projection TV?
Yes there is. ALL LCD/Plasma televisions have adjustment for convergence, RGB drive, color saturation and a virtual host of other parameters than can be adjusted through the "technician's service menu".
Unfortunately, you are not supplied with the information to access that menu and you're limited to a "user's menu" which allows you to only adjust some of the basics, like volume, tone, color, tint and several more.
Methods of access vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. And the main reason that a consumer isn't given access to these menus is simply because they can totally screw up a set with just the push of a button, requiring hours to correct by a qualified technician.
Of course, most all of them have a factory default to recover most of the settings, but there's still a lot of finite settings that would have to be adjusted to get your TV looking right again.
Depending on the LCD manufacturer, it may be adjustable for your specific set, or you could have a problem with the LCD digital or driver modules. Even the LCD display itself could be failing.
Best bet is to call a QAUALIFIED technician and have it checked out. If you don't have an extended service plan from where you purchased the set, or if it's out of manufacturer's warranty, some of the repairs could be quite expensive. enough so that it may be worth looking into buying a replacement set.
I've been doing LCD/plasma repairs for the last year and a half for a big box retailer, so I think I know what I'm talking about.
Another opinion from a WikiAnswers contributor:
unlike big screens that hav a red green and blue light the lcd only has 1 light so I'm guessing no......best to contact the manufacturer and see what they say to do
Is it possible to hook up a car cd player to play dolby surround sound CD's?
You can play dolby surround CDs if you have a surround-sound capable receiver. It should take no work on your end.
you put roaring star in a sentence by thinking why you gonnna use roaring star and write down some ideas on it , then put it in a sentence then you cany put it in a poem if you want to.♥
Will a RCA home theater system work with a Sony Bravia TV?
Yes, use the audio OUT on the TV to connect to the audio IN connectors on the sound system. Then look at the menu for audio adjustments or settings and select VARIABLE. This means turning the tv sound up and down will also make the new speakers follow the volume control on the remote. In the same menu turn the internal speakers OFF. We don't want to mix the tv's internal speakers with the new RCA sound system.
What is an optical digital cable?
It is a fiber optic cable carrying a digital audio signal. The common brand name of the cable is TOSLINK (the TOS being Toshiba who developed it).
The red light that you see is a red LED being pulsed on and off very quickly (usually 44,100 times a second). All digital information is transmitted this way. Digital only has two states: 0 or 1, on or off, hence light or no light.
This is the optical version of the coaxial digital output (an orange RCA jack). The format itself is known as S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format). In most cases, there is no quality difference between optical and coaxial. The only difference is that light is not a physical connection with a wire. It is rare, but "ground loops" (hum) can occur on any wired system where the components are on different electrical systems. Optical is impervious to this anomaly.
There is also an older standard called ADAT which uses this same cable. The ADAT was an Alesis Digital Audio Tape(deck) which has 8 channels of digital audio and was popular in the late 80's. Although the decks haven't been made in many years, many other audio companies have adapted it as a standard for passing 8 channels of audio at once. This is pro use stuff (like in a recording studio).
