If you want to run the speakers close to their maximum level, choose an amplifier of this power output or higher.

A note about power levels: True power output is always measured as an RMS figure. Music power is approximately twice RMS power and peak music power is about twice the level of music power. Therefore, if the speakers are rated at 60W peak music power, they actually have a rating of just 15 Watts RMS. When comparing amplifiers and speakers, always make sure you use the same units, RMS, Music or Peak Music. Never mix them.

Unfortunately VGA to HDMI cables are kind of a scam. The problem is VGA is an analog signal and HDMI is a digital signal. A cable is not capable of converting something from analog to digital or the other way around. In order to connect between a VGA and an HDMI connection you must use an active converter that will convert from one format to another. You didn't say which model Yamaha you have but if it's a newer A/V receiver, you can use it as a switch. Connect all the components to it and then one output to the TV input (again hdmi is best). This will make it so when you turn the receiver to an input, the video will automatically go to the tv. For example, if you put the receiver on DVD, the DVD video show up on the tv. If you can't see a picture when you connect your playback device to the TV with an HDMI cable, you might be on the wrong input on the TV (press the TV/Video button or Source button) or you may have a HDCP issue with the playback device. If indeed the TV has a S-Video OUTPUT, and the projector is set to the correct input (usually this has to be changed in the input menu) and you are still not getting any picture, I would check the S-Video cable for bent pins.
