If you bred a Arab who has 17 ribs with a Quarterhorse who has 18 ribs how many ribs would the foal have?

18, only a purebred Arabian can have 17 ribs, you can get a Arabian that maybe is 3/4 Arabian and 1/4 something else and it's possible but EXTREMELY rare that it will have 17 ribs. Trying to breed a cross-bred Arabian with 17 ribs won't get you anywhere much unless you are breeding a 3/4 Arabian.

What breeds of horse did knights in the middle ages use?

There were no "breeds" of horses in the medieval period, just as there were no breeds of dog, goat or sheep.

Horses were categorised according to the natural characteristics they possessed; any horse that had relatively short legs, a long body and an even, stable gait was considered to be a palfrey (a good quality riding horse). A horse with a less comfortable gait would be classed as a rouncey (a less expensive general riding horse).

Horses that were useless for riding were called sumpters - pack-horses.

Knights kept their very best horses as destriers, for hunting and warfare, because they were strong, patient, fast and fearless - not because they belonged to any particular breed.

Knights would normally ride a palfrey or rouncey, keeping the destrier fresh and ready for battle. They also kept sumpters to carry food, weapons, camp equipment and other stores. A knight therefore had many horses at his disposal.

How can you make a carousal horse using a plastic rocking horse?

I have a carousel horse I bought already put together, that is made out of a "Spring" horse. It has a square wooden base, and pole. There is a square hole cut out of its belly that has a wooden block in it, to support the weight I assume. There is also a hole that is round where the poll comes out at the point of his withers on top.

Here are some pictures. I thought maybe they would help explain. :-)

1990 Honda prelude si is hard to start when sitting out in the heat of the day what could be wrong?

You don't indicate if the vehicle was recently driven. I assume it was not recently driven and it takes a longer period of time to ignite. It's likely that this is because the engine is not getting enough fuel. This occurs because the onboard diagnostic (OBD II) "reads" the engine as NOT needing a "richer" mixture, as during a "cold" start. The possible causes are many. SOLUTION: Assuming the plugs, wires, valves and air filter, are in their correct operating configuration, there is a technique you can try that may help. When you turn the ignition key on, stop at the point just before the car is asked to turn over. You will see the dashboard fully lit. Stay there for about 5 seconds. This lets the fuel pump "charge up" the fuel rail and push as much fuel as possible into the cylinders. Then turn the key to the position that starts the engine. IF THAT DOESN'T WORK, check your air filter and wires. The valves should be adjusted if those items check out. You should be able to remove the air filter, hold it up to sunlight and see the sun's core. The wires can be tested with an ohmmeter - you'll have to ask me about that later. The valves are adjusted with the engine cool.

Why do milk cartons look like prisms?

The reason a milk carton (which has a square footprint) looks like a prism is that when it is viewed from the the side, there will always be a face of the carton hidden from view. A maximum of three sides will be visible (but only one if it is viewed on a line of sight perpendicular to any face or side) when a viewer is looking at the carton. The three-sided solid figure that it looks like is called a prism.

Are horses monogomous or polygyny?

Should you be able to see your horse colts penis within the first coulple of days after birth?

Do female mules have a regular heat cycle like mares?

Female mules typically do not have a regular heat cycle like mares. They are usually infertile due to the mismatched number of chromosomes from their horse and donkey parents.

Can a horse be pregnant even if she has a negative ultrasound?

Depending on the date of the ultrasound the mare could still be pregnant under certain circumstances.

1) If the mare has many uterine cysts a pregancy could be mistaken for a cyst.

2) If the conceptus is not large enough to be observed at the time of the ultrasound.

(ex. the ultrasound is done at what is thought to be day 12 post ovulation but the conceptus is only at day 10).

3) The mare double ovulated and only the younger conceptus, which has gone unobserved, continues to develop. Usually, the veterinarian determines if the

mare has double ovulated during the course of each ultrasound.

If the mare does not return to heat as expected after a negative ultrasound she should be rechecked for pregnancy and, if open, the veterinarian may be able to

determine the rootcause for her failure to return to heat.
