How do you make a homemade cleanser that cleans mold off walls?
The best material to do this is simple household bleach or Sodium hypochlorite.
It kills the mould spores as well as cleans it. Dilute the bleach with water so that it is just strong enough to do the job. Rinse off with clean water after.
Be particularly careful with the bleach around metal parts like window and door frames. Wash it off well as bleach can stain and also promote rust if left in places like window frame heads .
Cheers, Bill

What is the average labor cost for installing a tile shower?
5- 7 bucks a SF and most guys charge a minimum fee. Example average kitchen backsplash is 30 Square feet 210.00 wouldn't be worth doing most tile guys minimum charge is 350.00-400.00
Here in Chicago the average price for installation of your ceramic tile should be about 5.50 per S/F straight lay out and $ 6.50 for 45 degree lay out but thast if is ceramic quarry tile and if is a porcelain tile is about $ 7.00 dollar per foot if is a shiny tile.
There is no real average because so many variables are involved such as: Types of substrates i.e.. Wood, Concrete, Gypsum screed will require different types of installation methods. For instance an uncoupling membrane or anti-fracture membrane would be highly recommended over most concrete slabs. This would substantially increase your labor costs. Types of Tile: Stone, Glass, Porcelain, Quarry, Ceramic all require different installation methods and installation materials that can alter the cost of labor. Other factors that may affect the price are if the installer includes cement board and mortar. These materials can be costly and if included make sure you factor that in. A 100 square foot floor should run 600-700 dollars Wall Tile can be more.

A good basic cleaner is baking soda made into a paste. Scrub the stain with the paste then rinse. Spraying with vinegar before rinsing can help lift extra dirt from the surface. Usually best results are achieved by using a glass cleaner product such as Windex. You can use a paper towel or other lint free cloth such as a old t-shirt. Most times for things like a mirror, a couple sprays will do the trick. For larger surfaces that tend to have more dirt, spray cleaner evenly over the surface. After spraying your surface, take your paper towel or lint free cloth and wipe the surface until dirt is gone and surface is dry.

What tape sticks better scotch tape or masking tape?
Masking tape is a paper product (usually tan color) with adhesive that makes it easily removable. It's a temporary tape. Most people put masking tape on window seals and around door frames (and many other places) when painting a room. Duct tape is made with a plastic coating (usually silver color); it has a very strong adhesive and is meant to be permanent. It's a little hard to remove and it leaves a lot of adhesive on the surface when you remove it.
How do you repair acetone marks on plastic?
Depending on the color and type of plastic surface, you can wet sand the plastic with 1500-2000 grit sand paper. Sand real lightly, and sand enough to see the stains disappearing from the sanding area. Be sure to keep sand paper level with surface, do not used finger tips, will leave grooves. Now depending on the surface rather semi- or glossy, wipe with a degreaser, that does not contain acetone. Spray plastic surface with a clear coat finish, either semi or glossy. Works great on plastic headlights on vehicles.

How do you remove an egg stain from vinyl siding?
Since egg stains on vinyl siding are extremely difficult to remove (not even high volume power-washing will take it off) you have nothing to lose by trying this before having to replace that section of vinyl siding:
Mix some non-abrasive filler such as sanding dust with an enzyme laundry detergent and spread a past of this over the affected surface. Cover it with plastic wrap to keep the past damp for as long as possible. Then rise off the surface. The theory behind this solution (told by a vinyl siding expert) is this solution is to have the enzymes stay active and in contact with the spots for a while so that the paste has a chance to soften them. It is much like soaking a cooking pan to remove baked-on food debris. It is also the approach recommended for removing dried on egg stains from the side of a home. You may also use the mr.clean magic earsers to clean dried egg off.
If this doesn't work, then take a piece of siding from another part of the house (that has aged) to match the piece you want to replace. This is less costly than replacing a larger area (color change would be brighter and stick out like a sore thumb) or, paint it. If you want to pain this part of the house then see your hardware store dealer and ask for advice on what paint to use.

How do you build a wood sign post?
Buy a 12' pressure treated 4 X 4. Buy a post holder at the local home center. This is a 36" steel stake with a square box at the top. The post holder is driven into the ground with a sledge hammer after inserting a small slightly undersized block of wood into the square box at the top.
Cut the 4X4 in two lengths. The long piece should be about 7 - 8' long.
Use a circular saw that has the blade depth set to 1/2 the thickness of the 4X4. By making repetitive cuts, create a channel the exact with of the 4X4.
Create an equal channel in the other section of 4X4. The two pieces will now fit together. Nail the pieces together using 10p galvanized nails.
Insert the post into the post holder. May be necessary to hammer it to insure a snug fit. A decorative cap can be purchased at the local home center.

When you flush the toilet the shower water gets hot why?
Code allows your plumber to supply three fixtures using 1/2 tubing. In most bathrooms, you only have three fixtures (tub/toilet/lavatory). So most plumbers only run 1/2 pipe to supply the bathroom. Code allows this. Personally, I find this layout a little short-sighted.
Anyways - when someone flushes, the toilet requires water to refill. Which means your shower is now sharing that water supply with the toilet as the toilet refills. What I love best is when you re-adjust the shower valve...then the toilet quits filling...and you scald yourself. Lots of fun there.
Your problem is caused by poor plumbing (my opinion) or if you are in an older home, galvanized pipes tend to corrode from the inside which only makes the condition worse.
If you like to do things yourself, carry over a 3/4 line and pull 1/2 take-offs for each fixture and the problem will be solved.
In a straight : When you shower you are using both hot and cold at the same time and when you flush the toilet you are causing the homes cold water to be guided more through the toilet line including the cold water that you are using from the shower line.
:
If a few words, water pressure and flow are inversely related. The more flow you have, the less the water pressure. Since the toilet and shower are connected to the same water supply line, when there is flow into the toilet, it takes away from the shower. Since cold water is used to supply the toilet, it takes away from the cold water flow to the shower. With the same amount of hot water flowing, the temperature of the water in the shower will get hotter.

What is that smell under the kitchen sink?
It's a little difficult for me to check from here. -It needs someone to look underneath and narrow it down. Possibly the drain is leaking, you may have forgotten some vegetables you stored there or other similar things.
Yes, you need to look. Empty everything out and check to see if there is dampness, puddling, rotted areas, mold or slime anywhere. Clean it all up- pipes, floor, inside walls, cleanser bottles- with some kitchen spray cleaner and leave the doors open for a couple of days. You should be able to determine if something is leaking and needs to be repaired.
