An exoskeleton functions as an insect's skeletal system. Unlike humans who have a skeletal structure on the inside, insects have theirs on the outside. (Exo- Greek for outside, external)

This limits how large insects can get (thank goodness) so, unlike mammals, reptiles and other creatures that have an internal skeletal system, insects can only grow to a certain size due to gravity. The bigger something gets, the more gravity is being exerted on it, so theoretically insects would cave in on themselves if they got too big. This is why lobsters, crabs, and other crustaceans are larger than an average beetle because being underwater allows their exoskeletons to grow a little bit more.

Adult stink bugs mostly feed on sap from smelly plants like cabbage. They eat ladybugs and other bugs that are poisonous to birds or mammals that try to eat them.

Locusts are large grasshopper-like insects. They vary in colour depending on the species - normally brown in colour.

European Earwig, type that in google and your find pics of them eating peaches. PLus they both have feelers a brown knob head mentionioned, in the story and large legs. So yeah, very sure Gaston is a European Earwig. Plus in the story of Gaston by William Saroyan, it says they live in Paris....and where is Paris? EUROPE! What is the bug called? EUROPEAN EARWIG!!

Even though earwigs are very freaky, creepy and weird looking, there pinchers are for a display of threat. The male earwigs have more curved pinchers, while the females have more straight pinchers.

Well I have and a way too help prevent earwigs from entering your home is too make sure u keep your air conditioning down because earwigs like moist places. Also you can use insect spray, or RAID around the perimeter of your home too keep insects, such as earwigs out of your home!

So to rap this up, from what I've read or learned earwigs really don't have a purpose, except for they freak me out and I hate them with a passion!!

The only disadvantage of a dragonfly is that they could be a nuisance to humans. There are many advantages including showing other types of animals that fresh water is near.
