There is no such thing as a real free IQ test on-line. The only way to get a real IQ test that is reliable and valid (meaning, it measures your intelligence accurately) is to get professionally tested through a mental health professional or testing center using a carefully researched and designed measure.
The reason for this is that it takes lots of research and development (ie time and money) to create and test an accurate IQ test, and thus you will always be charged to take a real IQ test.
This is not an accurate answer. The Internet has made it easier to validate and create an accurate IQ test that the developer can offer for free to the subject and recover costs through advertisers. There are definitely scam sites that lure you in to get you to provide your mobile number and they start billing your phone company, but there are a few legitimate sites that offer free IQ tests on-line.
This test was developed with the assistance of William McConochie, Ph.D., a psychologist who works in partnership with FunEducation. Primarily, Dr. McConochie's contribution is the scoring system, statistical analysis and manual write-up. The test was designed as a brief intelligence test for administration over the Internet.
The test consists of 42 items in four content areas: Quantitative, Spatial, Words and Fill in the Blank. Three of the four content areas are "verbal", one "spatial".
The test was administered to 90,000 persons over the Internet over several years. Initial norming was based on smaller samples. This sample included 44 percent males, 56 percent females. Scores for males and females were generally equal. The greatest difference was a slight advantage for males in the 12 spatial test items (.15**), consistent with other research that shows a slight advantage for males in this area of intelligence. The total score advantage for males was also significant but slight (.09**).
