I believe it means your engine is misfiring on bank one which I believe is the left or drivers side bank. Check your spark plugs and wires and see if you see any problems.

first check uour fuses in the right front floor column.

then the break switch on the break peddle,

I have read that it is the throttle body needs to be cleaned. I am just trying to see if this may be correct. It came on about 3 months ago and went off but now it is back on again.

Can you hear the motor trying to pop open the trunk? Does it open using the remote, the green Jag button in the middle of the rear chrome on the trunk deck lid or using the button near the steering wheel? Does the trunk open with the key? Does it open when you use the key in the drivers door after pushing the unlock button three times? If the answer is NO to all these questions than the motor to the trunk eject needs to be replaced or if you had it in the bodyshop, more than likely they did not reconnect the wires correctly. My bodyshop recently didn't wire up the trunk motor correctly and I had the same problem. I couldn't use my remote to pop open the trunk, the secret green Jag button that many Jag owners don't know about didn't work when I pushed it and the button near the steering wheel didn't work either. My key didn't work either so it was quite a time trying to get my golf clubs out of my trunk. After taking it in to a dealership they were able to correct the problem and now my trunk works fine. Beware of bodyshops, they very seldom know how to work on Jaguars. You can find used motors for your trunk at Jaguar Heaven in California. I have used a few of their parts NEW and USED and they work fine and the service is exceptional if you talk to Dan. Good Luck! Dave (Las Vegas)

Youll need to remove the radiator cowl and the fan and viscous coupling; they all come off in order. Then you need to drain the coolant and take off the hoses going to the thermostat housing which sits on top of the water pump. Theres one bolt in particular right underneath the thermostat housing that almost impossible to access, takes forever. You'll find the bonnet gets in your way too as its forward tilting. Take it off if you can stand the pain. With the thermostat housing removed you can see the water pump; if youre lucky it will come apart easily but more likely youll struggle to get the pulley off and theres hardly any clearance to get at the retaining centre nut. Ignore the book and pull the whole assembly out in one go if you can, dont try to get the pulley off the pump, its a nightmare. Replace the thermostat while your in the pain zone anyway. Reassembly is a straight reversal. The whole thing is a pain and I'd pay not to do it again.

Try using tools...if that doesn't work, crowbar

This indicates a fault with an electrical circuit (such as a blown fuse). On certain models, more information can be got from the Vehicle Condition Monitor (VCM) by pressing the vcm button on the dash.

Changing the trans fluid on the Vanden Plas is extremely easy as the pan is unobstructed by the mufflers or support members! I'm sure all the V8 models are this way.Hooray for Britain! First warm up the engine (not hot, so as not to burn yourself, but enough to allow it to drain it completely from the passages.) Next take out the drain plug and let it all drain out. Remove the bolts, the gasket, filter and o-ring at the tip of the filter tube, which usually gets stuck in the passage in the transmission. Pry it out with something sharp, but careful not to scratch anywhere. Clean out the pan thoroughly and install new filter, gasket and o-ring. When tightening all bolts, start from the middle ones and work your way towards the end ones, this way there is no need to over tighten as it will cause a problem. Refill with exact amount as over or under filling will cause premature wear. Move the shifter through all it's gears including reverse to allow the fluid to fill in all passages, then you will get an accurate reading on the dipstick. It must be checked while the engine is running and on level ground. Trannys are expensive to rebuild especially on high end automobiles, so it is vital to have the proper amount and changed at the right intervals. The engine oil pan is as easy and should also be done at the same time as detergents accumulate on the bottom and form gunk that never drains properly during regular changes. The Jag will be lighter on it's feet after these pans are serviced!

if it is a series III - remove two screws at the bottom of the armrest. pull out ash tray. remove screw in the middle of the ash tray holder. pull up on armrest, it should pop up, then pull it out start at bottom right of door and start popping out the plastic clips (all the way around the door) (remove speaker wires) push up door panel - DONE

vanden plas is the most luxury model of the xj series. vanden plas was a manufacturer of cars that jaguar bought Dear Sir, the Vanden Plas is a package that is available on some jaguars which includes certain luxury features such as tray lables for the rear passengers

P1621 - Engine control module engine immobilization input circuit malfunction

There are three locations for fuses in a jaguar. one is in the engine compartment and is probably not the one you are looking for. There are two in the rear passenger compartment behind the kick panel at the base of the rear seat on each side, use a coin to turn the retainer near the top. I belive this is where your fuse is. There is another panel in the trunk near the battery also. All of them are marked as to what fuses they control on the covers

If the battery is not taking a charge it is bad and needs to be replaced.

Sounds like Master cylinder is leaking at rear seal--allowing fluid to enter power brake booster--you may be lucky enough to just have to replace master cylinder, but most likely both will require replacement. Try a seal kit first.

Inside the the front wheel well. Just below the top of the front tire. You will find a a removeable plastic panel. That is held in place by a few pastic clips. Remove this cover and remove the bulb from the head light. By twisting the plastic ring about 60degrees or so to the left. Just in case you are not aware of the fact. Never touch the bulb with your bare hands. The oil from your hands will cause the bulb to fail. If you recently used the headlights. Let them cool off for at least 1/2 hour or so before you atempt to change them. You can receive serious burns from the bulbs if you dont.

If you have the dual sealed beams like my Vanden Plas had, you have to unscrew the retainer screws from the front side and pull the bulb out the front. Pull the clip off the back and plug in new bulb, push bulb back in and retighten the retainer. If you have the square lights I would swap them out! I put the twin sealed beams from my Vanden Plas on my 90 Soveriegn after the Vanden Plas reached parts-car status. A little bit of work, but it looks so much classier!

set phone in airplane mode, place in glove box, hold power button on radio unit while in bluetooth mode and pump the breaks three times then release the power button should be all set after that

inside the trunk, pullback the liner on the left side and right under the gas lid you will see a switch type thing that moves back and forth, a little metal rod moves back and forth into a spot on the cap to release it.

The battery is located in the trunk under the trunk floor carpet on the right side.
