How do you replace power booster for a 1993 jaguar?
The XJ6 in this vintage does not have a standard, vacuum-powered power booster for the brake system. It is an electric/hydraulic hybrid system. The unit is located on the passenger side of the engine bay in the right corner closest to the passenger. Undo the brake lines and electric plug going to it and replace. Pretty strange, actually, the booster is almost always connected to the master cylinder, as in the older version of this same vehicle.

The alarm is located near the door lock ecu near the infrared reciever, if equiped. Look for a valet overide switch, also anything that will cut the power is tied into the ingnition switch + 12 volt white/pink 18 ga wire and the yellow acc wire.

Check the light switches that turn on the reading lights in rear. There is one on each back door next to the power window button. If one is left in the on position it will run your battery down over night. Generally, this is the result of a bad diode in the alternator. I had this happen to my '88 Town Car, so it wouldn't be surprising in an '89. What happens is that the bad diode allows a certain amount of leakage current to ground -- not much, about an amp or two. This runs the battery down over a few hours. Note that once the car is started, the alternator is producing good power, the battery will charge, and within at least one or two hours, the car will start and run quite nicely off the battery. You can check to see if this is the problem by using a clamp-on ammeter (voltmeter won't be of much help) to see if there is voltage drain in excess of the normal 'standby' for the electronics. Selectively pull the fuses for things like the radio, if you like, to confirm that there are no other drains when you make the measurement. I believe that the diode trio in this alternator can be replaced separately but don't have a Motorcraft P/N for it offhand. Might be reasonable, though, to install a properly remanufactured alternator instead of fiddling.

Install a 1994 Jaguar XJ6 Fuel Pump?
The fuel tank has to be removed - siphon all petrol out. From inside the boot remove spare wheel and all fixings from the tank and all electrical connections and breathers from the top of the tank. From underneath the car the fuel pipes need to be disconnected. The Haynes manual recommends dropping th rear axle to gain access to then but it can be done without doing this although it is extremely tricky! I have managed to do it twice!! Once all pipes and wires have been disconnected the tank can be removed from the boot of the car. The fuel pump is located in a plastic 'can' that can be removed from the tank by gently tapping the locking ring undone. Getting the pump out of the container is slighty tricky since it is important to try and avoid breaking the moulded plastic tags that secure the top of the container. Mine broke but I secured it on re-fitting with three self tapping screws. Replacement 'non-Jaguar' pumps are avialable from David Manners Ltd. This is a big job for the amateur so allow plenty of time and be aware of the potential fire/explosion hazard - empty fuel tanks are more dangerous than full ones and can be easily ignited with disastrous consquences. How do you mount rear view mirror jaguar xj6?
Depends on what year the xj is and if your talking outside rear view or inside. I just replaced my inside rear view. It's auto-dimming. If it's the inside and auto-dimming, there is a cap on the top of the mount. Carefully pry back near the top and this peice should come off easily. You should then be able to push the mirror post straight down to release it from the windshield mount. Then you'll have to loosen the overhead console. Do this by using a straight blade screw driver to turn the plastic keeper screw, that is is visible with the sunglass holder open, 90 degrees counter-clockwise. Pull gently, slightly downward and toward the rear of the car. The overhead console is held in the front by two metal tabs so there are no more screws. That will free the overhead console and you can see the wiring harness for the mirror toward the front of where the console was. The connector has a tab so very carefully lift the tab and pull apart the harness. Re-attach in reverse order and you'll be seeing things in the rear of the car again! Hopefully not flashing lights!
