How do you open the fuse box in an 08 jeep grand Cherokee?
If you can't figure out how to open the box you should not be in there. Take this poor vehicle to the dealer and be prepared to tell the nice man why you're bringing it in.
WhaT tool do you use to take an oil adapter off a 1993 jEep grandcherokee?
If it is the same as the 90deg adapter as on the 97 Grand Cherokee, you will need a short, male torx that fits on a socket driver. It has to be short because the adapter is so close to the inside of the tire well.
If you are removing it because it is leaking oil, you can buy the o-ring set from a dealer for about $10.00. Change the whole set - not just the one that is leaking.
This is most common to be the Crankshaft Position Sensor, it is located on the top of the bell housing.
This is the fix. I have a 1996 Grand Cherokee (4.0L) with all the stalling problems that everyone else is having. My main problem seemed to be centered around the middle plug-in connection at the ECU. My son could wiggle the wires and duplicate the stalling. My son started by spraying electrical cleaner on the connections (No Luck). Tried the screw fix (No Luck). Changed fuel filters (No Luck). Tried stabilizing wires with zip ties (No Luck). Out of desperation and the fact that my son used a whole can of electrical contact cleaner trying to clean the terminals I told him to spray some brake cleaner on the terminals (Middle terminal from the ECU) and black gunk flowed out as the pins and female connecters were cleaned (They are bright and shinny now). Have not had any problems since. Looks like regular electrical contact cleaner is not strong enough for the job. Lets just hope that the brake cleaner doesn't eat my plastic connecters away.
Does the 2006 jeep grand Cherokee have an auxillary transmission cooler?
Typically Jeeps (or any other vehicles) don't have a tranny fluid cooler as factory equipment unless they are equipped with automatic transmission and a towing package of some kind. A quick and easy way to check would be to lift the hood and look at the front of the radiator. If your vehicle has the tranny cooler you'll see the smaller radiator for the transmission fluid mounted in front of the radiator....its a completely separate unit. If you don't see it then its not equipped with one because that is by far the most expensive part of the tranny cooler.
I'm sure you also have that info as part of your vin but I don't have the site handy that shows you what all those numbers mean. It IS available online somewhere though.
Good luck !!!

What do you do if your Jeep Grand Cherokee will not start?
First check instrument panel to see if the SECURITY light is lit. If so, assume that something has triggered the anti-theft automatic motor cut-off. The easiest override is to use your key in the driver door and turn it RIGHT twice, and left once. Another contributor suggested the same procedure with the passenger door. If neither works, we tried a back-up plan and used two keys just in case...
First, we attached battery cables to insure power to the engine.. then attempted to start engine. Second person tried the key procedure on the driver door. It worked like a charm!
It's an ongoing problem with our 95 Jeep Orvis ed. ever since a professional battery outlet installed our new remote battery BACKWARDS and fried our electrical system. Always be very careful with those remotes. As for the non-start, if it's not the security cut-off, there are tons of other regular items to check, which I'll leave to others. Cheers!
Where is the fan relay for a 1994 jeep Cherokee?
It's located in the black fuse box under the hood but if when you pull the relay out the fan kicks on the relay wont fix it... common situation. The fan itself is most likely bad

you have a bad blinker switch in the steering column chryslers have a problem with wires getting to hot and burn together causing a short I think you're right. How do you get to the 3rd brake light on a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee The manual is not very helpful.?
there are 4 screws that hold up a plastic trim plate that spans the width of the interior just below the light. remove screws, pull down and you have access.
How do you change brake light in Jeep Grand Cherokee?
1. Open hatch and remove the 2 hex screws on the side of the light.
2. This will loosen the light. It is still held in by the main wire and a push-in plastic tab. Pull the entire light assemble straight back. You have to pull fairly hard to pop the light out of the plastic tab. Don't pull too far out back (because of the main wire).
3. There are 3 bulbs in each side. Brake light is the top bulb. Turn counter-clockwise to unscrew. You can now replace the bulb.
4. You might as well replace all 3 bulbs. Good auto parts stores sell single bulbs for approx. $1.50 each. Reverse steps to reassemble.

Something is loose. Find the loose part. More than likely the exhaust system.
AnswerI also found that the jack and tire wrench on my 94 under the rear passenger seat were loose and making a noise. I wrapped them in a towel and restowed them and it solved the issue AnswerI found that on my 88 Cherokee that there is bump stops on the lift gate that will unscrew just a few turns to keep the rear lift gate from thumping. AnswerCheck to make sure the rear shocks are physically bolted tight. AnswerIf you have a tow package the removeable hitch has play and will rattle some AnswerI had a rattle problem... sounded like it was coming from below the passenger seat. Turned out being a weak exhaust bracket that bent on the passenger side of the transmission and the exhaust pipe was bouncing off a frame. the bracket slides into a rubber mount that is fixed to the tranny, and the other end is welded to the exhaust pipe. without cutting the bracket off, or replacing the exhaust, the only other option is to heat the bracket and bend it up to raise the exhaust pipe another 1/2". Fixed the Problem. How do I change the fan relay on Jeep 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
The fan relay is under the front bumper cover beneath the right headlight. This is a pulse width modulated relay controlled by the Powertrain Control Module. The heat sink side of this relay is bolted to the frame underneath the bumper cover. The factory service manual would have you remove the entire front bumper cover and grill. About a 2 hour operation for a dealer.
A quicker and less painful way is to remove the right headlight (remove one long bolt and pop the light assembly out). Then use a 2 inch hole saw to cut 2 overlapping holes (makes a figure 8) with the right edge of the holes down the right edge of the reinforcing groove of the composite structure under the headlight.
2009-07-26 All is correct; however, I was unsure were to cut, I used a flashlight & mirror to search for the relay behind the plastic portion of passenger side headlight cavity. The outside edge of the hole that you will need to cut starts about 3-4 inches from the outside edge of the cavity, this will make your center being about 7-8 inches from the edge. The relay is on a slope and you will need an elbow extension or will need to cut more plastic closer to the front of the vehicle - best of luck
