If your 1984 Grand Wagoneer won't start and you suspect the choke is stuck, you can try manually moving the choke linkage to see if it frees up. First, locate the choke mechanism on the carburetor; it may have a physical lever or linkage. You can also check for any binding or debris around the choke area. If the choke is still stuck after trying to free it, consider removing the carburetor to clean or repair the choke mechanism.

Where is the fuel pump for 1983 Jeep Grand Wagoneer?

tricky to see with all the power options, but its right up on the front of the engine. look on the drivers side, more or less directly beneath the steering pump. it's a sort of flat round shape, with (as far as i can remember) a line coming in the bottom, and one going out the top. you can also just follow the fuel lines that are tucked along the left framerail right near the front, they lead right to it. hope this helps.

This is a good description in addition you can follow the fuel line from the carb down to the fuel pump. it is hidden by the distributor.

How can you remove a dashboard from a 1984 Jeep Wagoneer?

Hi there, Not sure if the 84 is the same as the 88 grand wagoneer, but if it is, you can indeed remove the entire dash assembly. I just took the whole dash panel and dash board out of my 88 donor vehicle tonight.

To revoe the whole dash, you will first need to remove all the switches, gauges and glove box. then disconnect all the wiring under the dash. That will take the best part of 2-3 hours depending on how limber you are and which way your wrists bend.

Next, remove the steering wheel anchor under the dash as well as the 2 support rods going up to under the windshield as they will get hung up on the dash when you try to remove it. then remove the achor bolts on each side of the dash fastening it to the body. Next you will need to detach the air conditioning core and casing from the bottom of the passanger side of the dash.

Lastlly, the really big step is that you will need to remove the windshield completely to get access to the really annoying bolts that anchor the very front of the dash to the body. There really doesn;t seem to be any other way to get access to them.

Once the windshield is removed (which takes about an hour to do carefully so you can save the gasket and the glass) you can have easy access to remove the dash and to disconnect the wires in behind it as well. There are also plastic anchors along the top of the dash fastening the wire loom to the dash and these will need to be popped open or cut to release the dash.

and voila, enjoy your newly removed dash, suitable for framing.

Why does my 1986 grand Jeep wagoneer engine suddenly die and sometimes won't start back up could hardly get it home?

Obviously, it could be a number of things... but I had a 84' Porsche 944 that did the same thing, what was wrong with it was a bad ground wire. So if it just occasionally dies, try to observe when it does and where it does and see if there are any consistencies. My Porsche would die by hitting bumps in the road rapidly... and it turned out to be a loose ground wire. So, I would try to check the wiring (which is very tedious), beause it might be a bad ground.
