How do you release the pressure on the brake cylinder on the rear brake pads of a kia spectra 2004?
I did it myself with a large "C" clamp and a block of wood. I used the block of wood behind the caliper to anchor the clamp and used the adjustable side of the clamp to push the cylinder back into its housing. I believe I used a big pair of channel locks or pliers to get enough torque to actually tighten the clamp and force the cylinder back into the caliper.
WARNING: This is a cheap-ass, ghetto way to accomplish this task. You need to be really, really careful to make sure you force the cylinder back straight and not at an angle. If it goes back at an angle it can get stuck and damage the caliper permanently. They also make a specially designed tool to do this repair. This is a more expensive solution, however it minimizes the possibility of doing any damage to your car. Do a google search to find it.
How do you put a 2002 Kia Spectra window back on track?
I am dealing with the same thing myself. Here's what I have found out:
As Kia Spectras get older, the windows often start to have problems. When you're looking at a window that is "off track" and rolls up crooked, most likely what you're looking at is a bad window regulator. The price for getting this fixed varies based on whether you're talking about manual or automatic windows. My Spectra had automatic windows, so those are the only kind I can speak to.
Having this replaced at the dealership costs around $350-450. If you or a mechanic you trust is up for it, the part itself (usually sold in conjunction with a window motor) is in the $200-225 range. Used ones are available (often with short term guarantees) from junkyards or even eBay in the $100 range, though I have seen some as low as $79.
Good luck.

How do you remove the drivers side headlight on your 06 KIA spectra to change the bulb?
Actually the drivers side headlight has the battery about half an inch behind it so that 3" plastic cap can't be removed all that easily! The passenger side is a breeze but the drivers side is a pain in the butt. The headlight assembly needs to come out to change the bulb. Remove the top screws on the headlight housing and the screws on the left side (passenger side). Then remove the housing, change the bulb and re-install. Good luck! Under the hood, behind the light is a large screw on type plastic cover about 3" in diameter. It takes only about one full turn to remove. This will expose the bulb and its connector. Pull off the connector by pulling straight back. Push down and out on the wire spring clamp that is holding the bulb in place. When installing a new bulb, don't touch the glass part or it will fail prematurely. To remove the turn indicator, which is closer to the side of the car then the main headlight, simply push in and turn clock wise 1/4 turn.
How do you adjust Kia headlights?
Quote: I have a 2003 Kia Sorento and when my husband changed my headlights I asked him to "adjust" them. He tried to put he said that they can't be adjusted to point higher, lower or whichever way because they are screwed into place. Unquote.
Just in case anyone comes across this reply when looking for how to adjust Sorento headlights: the answer above is wrong. Sorento headlights are adjustable up & down, and side to side with a Phillips screwdriver. In addition, some Sorentos have and in-vehicle headlight adjustment switch so you can adjust for extra weight in the rear while you are driving.

How do you explain the meaning and purpose of a sampling frame in random sampling?
The term "sampling frame" may have no meaning at all in "random" sampling, since the "frame" by nature sets the parameters of the sampling, thus rendering the sampling somewhat "non-random".
Having said that, you might want to study the quality of corn in your area and, depending on which aspects or determining factors you are studying, you might set your sampling frame as "all the farmers in Waterloo region" or "all the farmers in a particular area growing Gold Harvest F1 Hybrid". These two examples will obviously give you different results as they are intended to study different aspects of corn.
this happened to me before. there is a little sensor in the middle console in the shifter that went bad. you need to change the shifter in the middle console. this doesn't work if you need a quick fix. theres a button in the center console you have to hit to release it. in my 98 there is a "button" under the steering column that you push up to relaese the key...it is covered by a small access "door" that takes a very small flat head screw driver to get to. the new ignition was like $300 to replace....I still press the Little button

If the locksmith had the proper code, the key would work ALL of your locks (unless at some point someone changed out the ignition and didnt bother keying it to your existing keys). ((If he did indeed have the proper code # (which btw you should have that # as well, do you?), then he miscut one or more of the tumbler positions relative to operating the ignition, likely to be the first or second cut in your key.)) What it sounds like happened is he made a key for the door assuming it would work the ignition. For many models/year of hyundais and kias this would have worked. However some models/year only use 6 out of 8 tumblers in the door, whereas the ignition needs all 8 tumbler positions cut. If I recall correctly the first 2 positions are not used in the door on some models/years, so you likely have an incomplete key. Regardless of what happened the locksmith should go and finish your key. Hopefully he didn't give you some line like "well that key should work everything, so too bad". The dealership won't be able to provide you with a key (very few dealerships have key cutting capabilities, they normally come to a qualified locksmith). For an 01 they should still have your car on record and can provide you with the correct code # which you can then take to a qualified locksmith. Without knowing a few more details like where did you or the locksmith get the code from it's hard to say EXACTLY what happened. But more than likely he assumed the passenger door lock had a code on it (it doesnt) and also assumed it would work the ignition as well (it doesnt all the time, and kias appear to hop around from year to year in their lock design) I am a locksmith and have to make keys for a 2009 kia spectra today. Our information for the 09 model is limited. I also told the customer (auto dealer lost all their keys somehow) to just bring me the door lock and I can make a fully working key, because our latest information which is only an 06 spectra states the door and ignition use all 8 tumbler positions. Apparently they changed in 07 so that the door doesnt use positions 1&2. So, I will now have to go to the dealership and finish the key on sight and not charge them for the service call because I didnt give them the correct info. Unfortunately our automotive program has not been updated since 07 (06 really) because the developers of AUTOSMART ADVISOR cannot get it to work with vista completely.

2001 Kia Spectra misfiring on cylinder number one Plugs and wires new ideas on what to check next?
I suggest you run a COMPRESSION TEST on all cylinders. It has been so long, I cannot describe how to interpret the results, but basically, analysis of the test results, both for the suspect cylinder and the others, and the relationship of the differences can tell you a great deal about the condition of the rings and valves. IF the compression in the SUSPECT cylinder is outside of the range of the others, that could be the cause of your miss. A "miss," or "missfire" can result from several causes, LOW COMPRESSION being only one. Low compression can be caused by worn compression rings, improperly seating [leaking] valves, a leaking head gasket, a cracked head or cylinder wall, and probably other causes I've overlooked. Instructions for performing a compression test can be found in basic automotive service manuals, usually available at most local libraries [loan] and/or auto parts supply stores [buy]. There are a few different compression testers available at your local auto parts supply. They all operate in the same manner, some are just designed to be more convienent to use, and thus usually cost more. Before buying any tools or test equipment, get the manual[s] which describe the process, study them until you fully understand the procedure[s], and then, obtain a compression test set. It is possible that some auto parts houses MAY LOAN you a compression tester. If not, then buy the best you can afford.
