There is no ´VLC files´ or ´iTunes files´. VLC can save audio and video as various formats. iTunes uses mp4/acc (labeled as ´m4a´). Mp4 is a ´container' format, iTunes uses the mp4 container to hold aac codec information.

Depending on what laptop you have and how it is setup will determine if you will be able to use it. Are you accessing the internet through WiFi now from your house or are you connected through an Ethernet cord? If you are already connected to WiFi then you will be set up to go to many places that host WiFi such as coffee shops and hotels. Many homes have WiFi set up and do not have passwords set so you could use the internet off of those. If you are running on a Mac computer you will probably have AirPort built into your laptop. If so, when you are at a place you think their is WiFi just go to the AirPort button on the top right of your screen next to your time and Spotlight (looks almost like a speaker with sound waves coming out, or a cell phone coverage bar.) In the drop down menu there you can select a WiFi hotspot. Beware of the lock icons because unless you have a password you will not be able to access those networks. Many places will say free WiFi, but you will need to ask them for a password still. If you have some other kind of laptop such as Windows or Linux based computer you will need to see if you are already connected to WiFi. If so you will most likely be able to automatically connect to a hotspot. If not you will have to consult with your operating systems user guide, or just Google it. The short answer though is, yes IF you have a wireless card set up in your laptop. If not, you will have to purchase one. If you have a WiFi connection at your home you are connected to you are ready to go!

Pros:

- The iMac, as are most Macintosh computers, have a few wires to deal with unlike PCs.

- You have the entire computer in one object.

- If you want to work with graphics or websites, iMacs usually handle programs such as Photoshop better than a PC.

- You don't need to install a bunch of drivers each time you have to format -- the Mac OS CDs usually have everything you need.

- You don't have to worry about viruses or spyware nearly as much.

Cons:

- Most games are not compatible with iMacs, let alone any other Mac product. Thus, with Apple's Boot Camp, this has been proved untrue.

- They're considered real expensive to get to the average consumer since most macs are made for professional uses, such as graphic design.

• Macs have page up buttons, but MacBooks don't. On a MacBook, hold the Fn key and press up or down for page up and page down.
• In a macbook, page up is fn+up arrow key. Page down is fn+down arrow key.
• Try the button with the up arrow on it.

An Internet connection is not required to run GarageBand on a Mac. It would only be required to download the music lessons available within GarageBand.

There are two built-in ways to take a screenshot on a Mac. The first one will take a picture of the entire screen. This is done by pressing the Command, shift and #3 keys simultaneously.

The second way is to take a picture of part of your screen. This is done by pressing the Command, shift and #4 keys simultaneously. A Crosshairs will appear on your screen. Click and hold down to drag the crosshairs over whatever section of the screen you want to capture. This will produce a picture of the selected area of the screen.

Sure, the mobility of having them when you need them instead of taking up room or battery usage when they are installed in your computer. The laptops can be made smaller, lighter, thinner and the battery's can have a longer life.

Not to mention if the peripheral, like a DVD drive, were to fail you would have to send the laptop in to a repair shop or you would have to disassemble the laptop to replace it.

If someone wants to connect their Ipod to their mac there is a connection that can be bought or can come with the phone called a USB cable. This cable then goes into one of the ports on the Mac and to the Ipod. Once this is done the connection is made.

Of course the market changes all the time and that price could lower slightly over time or go up because of the collector aspect of these early computers.
