What are arguments against cosmetic testing on animals?

For the against side I would say that it is cruel to test animals. They actually take the mascara wands and jab the poor little animal in the eye with it to see if it hurts. Many of the animals end up dying because of this treatment. And for the

for side I would say it is good because if we don't test things first, then

we might be in danger of the same things that we are putting the animals in: cancer risk, pain, etc etc etc.

Why do companies test on animals?

This has been a great debate previously. I am against testing on animals because it has been proved ineffective regarding drugs, etc. Animals are not human beings. I gave an alternative which was used in the past (not sure if they still use it) that convicts have the right (not forced) to give back to society and basically be guinea pigs for certain medications. The DNA of animals is far different than humans.

Does Elizabeth Arden test on animals?

NO. I contacted Elizabeth Arden and this is what I received.

Dear ,

Thank you for your recent inquiry concerning safety testing of Elizabeth Arden products. We appreciate your comments on this important issue.

Elizabeth Arden, Inc. shares your concern about the use of animals in safety testing and is committed to eliminating the need. Contrary to what you may have read or been told, we do not sponsor or perform any animal studies on our product formulations. This has been our policy since 1988.

To avoid the use of tests on animals, our product development work involves materials with well-established safety records and the use of extensive ingredient data bases. Our product safety testing also includes the use of non-animal studies, computer modeling and studies with human volunteers. As a result, we can take great pride in our product safety record.

Further, our ultimate goal is to eliminate the necessity for animal testing through our active support of our industry's sharing of scientific data and sponsorship of research programs to develop and validate non-animal alternatives for product testing.

We thank you, again, for the opportunity to clarify our position and hope you will continue to enjoy Elizabeth Arden products with confidence. If you have additional questions or comments you may contact us at 800-326-7337. It will be our pleasure to assist you.

Regards,

Lauren Ricci

Is Mac makeup tested on animals?

mac and the body shop do not do animal testing actually the body shop is against animal testing!

Actually, given that the Body Shop have been bought by L'Oreal (who do, indeed use the results of tests on animals for some ingredients) then it's a safe bet that Body Shop is no longer nearly as cruelty free as they once were.

I've found great resources online to help with my effort to go cruelty free in cosmetics. M.A.C. are fantastic. There are also Urban Decay and other larger outfits.
You might take a look at this site for further ideas:

What procedure do scientists go through to test cosmetics on animals?

There are three tests: the Draize test (securing rabbits' heads in a clamp and dripping the product in their eyes, then killing the rabbits after a while to study their eyes), skin reactivity tests (they use either shaved rabbits or hairless animals, apply the product to the skin, then kill the animals after a while to study their bodies) and the worst one, the LD50 test. The LD50 test is run on many products, not just cosmetics. It's especially run on medicines. They use 100 animals and either force down their throats, apply to their skins or inject them with a certain dose of the product. Two weeks later, they count the number of animals that remain alive. If only 50 are left, the test is over--LD50 is the dose that kills half the animals that receive it. (They then kill the rest of the animals.) If half the animals didn't die, they repeat the test with a larger dose, and continue until they find a dose that kills half the animals. The PETA and Humane Society of the United States people HATE this test with a passion because if the product will kill something, it will also cause it great pain.

How do the animals react after being tested on?

they might be dissected or sold to another researcher or reused because testing on animals is not accurate.

Animal testing is wrong and just because they can't say no it doesn't make it right. It wasn't right when we tested on orphans, blacks, G.I.s, and gypsies!

Does Proctor and Gamble test on animals?

Yes, they DO test on animals. It is NOT necessary to test medications on animals before they are ready for human consumption as many of the physical attributes (etc.) of animals are different than that of humans. However, many companies still insist upon putting animals in excruciating pain although there are other options to test a product that do not involve helpless animals.

How do you get a cover-up stain out of a white shirt?

As with any stain, you have to know where the pink colour has come from and then you can choose an appropriate action to remove it. Do you know what has caused it? If I know I may be able to help. As a first step DO NOT WASH IT as it may lead to the colour being fixed.
