Because mother and baby share the same blood stream. Some medicines can carry over from the mother to the baby and do some damage.
Same reason mothers shouldn't do drugs, but should make sure to eat healthy.
No. You better take bromhexine. It has been used for generations and is safe in pregnancy. Safety of ambroxol is not established in early and mid-pregnancy. It can be taken after 28 weeks of gestation.
If you are pregnant you should not take any medicines unless they are prescribed by a qualified medical doctor who knows that you are pregnant. You should also refrain from smoking and taking alcohol.
Many antibiotics are known to be dangerous to your fetus. Some are very safe. Your physician knows about the that very well. Otherwise also you are requested to take antibiotics on the prescription of the qualified doctor only.
there is a pill that induces or causes a miscarriage but it is only prescribed by doctors. Either this pill is prescribed for a "missed abortion", a pregnancy that has not expelled itself from the uterus that is no longer viable or for a medical abortion in which you choose to terminate the pregnancy. Contact your local abortion clinic or OBGYN to discuss your options further. It is not safe to take or do anything to try and terminate the pregnancy on your own. Good luck. Remember it is your body and your decision.
You can't take antibiotics without consulting your doctor. In some cases a woman have to take antibiotics because the alternative would be worse.
Cervical measurements vary greatly, but a normal second trimester cervix is usually between 3 and 4 cm long (30-40 mm) If your cervix is less than 25 mm in length at 18-22 weeks, you are at higher risk for pre-term labor, pre-term delivery and incompetent cervix. Usually your doctor will recommend serial cervical measurements via transvaginal ultrasound if your cervix is found to be shorter than normal or if you have conditions that put you at higher risk for incompetent cervix and/or pre-term labor. Examples would previous second trimester miscarriage, previous pre-term labor and/or delivery, previous cervical surgery and multiple gestation.
When you are pregnant you should only take medications that have been prescribed to you by a qualified medical doctor who knows you are pregnant (i.e.don't take medicines prescribed to you by the doctor from a time before you were pregnant). If you are in pain then you should go to see the doctor about this.
When pregnant you should try to eat well, avoid all alcohol and you should not smoke or be in a room with people that are smoking.
When a daughter becomes pregnant, her parents may wonder if it is safe to give her Ganoderma Lucidum. The expectant mother may become moody, especially for the first pregnancy.
During pregnancy, women are quite sensitive to outer stimulation, both mentally and physically. Though it is a natural phenomenon, most women have difficulty adapting.
During this period, taking Ganoderma Lucidum may act as a hemocatharsis, diuretic, and detoxicant and will allow the fetus to develop normally. This herb may also help woman who is difficult to get pregnant or who had habitual abortion before.
Prof. Kanata of Tohoku University believes that taking this herb can strengthen sexual ability of both the male and female, intensifying the activity of spermatozoa and regulating ovulation of the female.
Information of different sources reveals that Ganoderma Lucidum may be thought of as "friend of the female". It should be considered a required supplement for women
You shouldn't take nausea medication for morning sickness. you just have to throw up until you stop. It will go away soon.
However if you are so sick you get nothing down and get dehydrated you have to see a doctor ASAP. For some women it's so bad they have to be hospitalized for awhile.
Carbocisteine should not be used in pregnancy. Instead you can use bromhexine. It is safe in pregnancy.
Albendazole is known teratogen. Must not be used in pregnancy. You can use levamisole 150 mg in pregnancy. That is also to be avoided as far as possible in first trimester of pregnancy.
yes you can in very small doses, its not recommended in the third trimester or late stages of pregnancy as the baby can become addicted to the drug thus resulting in premature labour the baby being underweight or also might have breathing problems,if you can take paracetamol instead then this is fibe but dihydrocodeine in small doses can also be fine and this is what ive been now told by 3 dr's,i got conflicting answers at the begining but found out in the end that if it ouweights the rist to ur own health then this is fine but please try cutting down.
i was on 30mg tablets and used to take 7-8 a day but now only 3 so think ive done good, stopped smoking too,i also take diazipam but again have been told in very small doses is ok too so just keeping my fingers crossed that the dr's have told me the right thing ;0)
I'm just over 7 weeks pregnant and my first midwife appoint is 11th of Jan 2011 then hopefully the scan towards the end of Jan i can't wait good luck xx
I guess the best way to cure it is to drink plenty of water... steaming will do too...
Ideally you should wait until your period is late, that would assure a most accurate test, that being said, the stress of not knowing can sometimes get to you, there are certain tests on the market that allow you to test up to 4 days before your period is due, but if you get a negative, there still is a chance you may be pregnant and it's just too early to tell..

These drugs are classified as category B in pregnancy
If you're addicted, your baby will be addicted too. I know it's difficult to do, but for the health and wellbeing of you and your baby, talk to your doctor about the situation. It is possible to have your doctor wean you slowly off the drug until you are no longer feeling the effects of withdrawal. There are also Suboxone pills(aka the miracle drug for addicts, trust me, they're amazing) available to take while pregnant to eliminate Oxycontin withdrawal. I cant imagine going through withdrawal while pregnant. That could cause the baby to go into distress, since your blood pressure will be high, you wont want to eat, and you'll feel like absolute hell. Take care and good luck.
I think you mean XANAX which is an anti-anxiety drug. NO.
Another answer:
Only if it's extremely evolved.
Or did you mean "affect"? In which case, no.
You need to speak to the doctor about this. According to the FDA;
Category B: Either animal-reproduction studies have not demonstrated a foetal risk but there are no controlled studies in pregnant women or animal-reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect (other than a decrease in fertility) that was not confirmed in controlled studies in women in the 1st trimester (and there is no evidence of a risk in later trimesters).
Nope! But it wont be healthy for the fetus. If you absolutely have to take something you should talk to your doctor. Tylenol is usually the thing you are allowed to take.
Generally speaking, the use of any drug during pregnancy could cause harmful birth defects. The best way to determine if Afrin will cause any harm is to ask your physician. He or she will be able to tell you with certainty whether or not it would be safe to take Afrin during your pregancy. This response has been given by a medical professional, but not a physician.
