Stalling can be caused by any number of problems, but assuming you take good care of your minivan and have good spark plugs and wires and there are no deteriorated vacuum hoses leaking, a good bet is that you need to clean your air intake and fuel injectors. Aside from taking it apart and cleaning them manually, you may find that a good does or two of injector cleaner, either sea foam or STP may do the trick without a lot of expense. It may at least tide you over for a year or so.

Follow the top hose from the radiator. Where this hose connects to the engine will be a housing connected by two bolts. Drain the coolant remove the hose from the housing end and remove these bolts. The thermostat is under this housing. You will probably have to move the air cleaner tube out of your way to get access to it. Its not a picture, but I hope it helps you.

the thermostat is located behind the timing bet cowling. it is a bear to get off. i changed the timing belt and everything in there when i got it off. too hard to get off to have to do the job twice. the probem is that you cant get to the bolts and there is about 9 of them. i also changed the water pump.

I had a 1994 mercury villager I was having the same problem it shutting down when the engine got warm. The distributor was the problem . After I changed it I never had another problem with it shutting down anymore. Good luck
