If the sliding door on the 1999 Mercury Villager will not stay open, check for something that is not allowing the latching mechanism to lock into place. Make sure that the door is all the way back so that it can lock in.

The front wheel bearings need to be pressed into the spindles. This is something an automotive machine shop would normally do. The rear wheel bearings are bolt-on hub assemblies.

The engine in the Villager is a V-6, and like many transverse engines of this type, can be challenging to do head work on in the car. Depending which head is bad, it might be easier to remove the engine to work on it. If you're going to go to all that trouble, it might be more cost effective to replace the whole engine, depending how much you value the vehicle. In any event, I would not have the heads removed without having them inspected carefully and a valve job done. Expect this to cost $1200 to $2000.

A brake pedal going directly to the floor is a sign of a few things. First, you are in need of brake fluid. Second, the brake pads are probably almost worn out. They may be worn out past the point the ABS light would be active. The ABS light may also be burned out.

I believe that's the only way, abs systems are expensive, you can take one out of junkyard version of your car for probably 10 bucks.

There is no timing belt on a 3.0 DOHC. There are two timing chains which are inside the engine under the timing cover.

$ 1899.00 second converter $ 118.00 take manifold off gut the first converter and reinstall. First converter burnt out fuel to rich it must have been cherry red hot at some point-distributor is bad cost $ 300.00

Oddly enough the firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6.

T55, I just changed my brakes on 2003 Astro. If you've used another size as I did you may have burs in it. Tape it with hammer.

If the ABS warning light on the dash comes on and stays on while the vehicle is on operation, The ABS system requires attention. Diagnosis is quite complex, involving a number of lengthy diagnostic procedures, so I don't recommend attempting to fix the ABS system at home.

It is easiest to put in the middle of the sliding seat that can be slid from the rear to the middle of the van. It is also prefferable to have that seat in the middle with the middle seat removed. If you are using the side shoulder harness belts you need to pull them all the way out and retract them slowly. They should click. Once the belt is properly positioned per the seat manufacturers instructions make sure it is level and bucled in tight. You could also take the vehicle to a local police or fire department to have your installation inspected before use.
