Here are the steps to remove shortcut virus using command prompt:

1. Open command prompt and type "taskmgr" without quotes. This will open the task manager.

• Go to processes tab.
• Find any malicious processes. To determine malicious processes from safe, try to find processes with a different description such as "%wscript%". Also, the process name may be different from the normal processes on Windows.
• Click the malicious process and click "end process".

• Go to start up tab.
• Find and select processes that seems to be malicious (example: VBscript.exe).
• Uncheck the corresponding checkbox before them.
• Click apply.

4. Go to command prompt window and type your drive letter (ex. F:)

5. Type "attrib -s -h -r /s /d *.*" without any quotes. Press enter then wait for prompt to appear. This will unhide all files on your drive.

6. After the prompt appears, type "del *.ink" without quotes to delete all shortcuts on your drive.

The following features define the class of orthodox file managers.

• They present the user with a two-panel directory view consisting of one active and one passive panel. The latter always serves as a target for file operations. Panels are shrinkable and if shrunk they expose the terminal window hidden behind them. Normally only the last line of the terminal window (the command line) is visible.
• They provide close integration with an underlying OS shell via command line and associated terminal window that permits viewing the results of executing the shell command entered on the command line (e.g., via Ctrl-O shortcut in Norton Commander).
• They provide the user with extensive keyboard shortcuts.
• The file manager can be used without or with minimal use of the mouse.
• Users can create their own file associations and scripts that are invoked for certain file types and organize these scripts into a hierarchical tree (e.g., as a user script library or user menu)[citation needed].
• Users can extend the functionality of the manager via so called User menu or Start menu and extensions menu. Norton Commander introduced the concept of user-defined file associations that is now used in all modern file managers[citation needed].

• Information on the "active" and "passive" panels may be used for constructing commands on the command line. Examples include current file, path to left panel, path to right panel, etc.
• They provide a built-in viewer for (at least) the most basic file types.
• They have a built-in editor. In many cases, the editor can extract certain elements of the panels into the text being edited.
• Many support virtual file systems (VFS) such as viewing compressed archives, or via an FTP connection.
• They often have the word commander in the name.

When you say a "video CD" I'm going to assume your talking about a DVD, like you might rent from the rental store.

Your Computer needs 2 things to be able to play DVD and display it on your screen.

1 - DVD CD-ROM DRive (Hardware) That's a special type of CD-ROM drive that is also designed to play DVDs.

2 - DVD Player Program/Application (Software) This is a program that will read the information on the DVD, and display it on your screen.

If you have an older computer, you may not have a DVD player built in, but can add one for about $50 if you install it yourself opr have a friend do it. It should also come with software, if not you can download free DVD software on the internet.

Using a newer version of Windows Media Player:

* Launch Windows Media Player.

* Insert the VCD in to the CD Drive.

* From the menu bar, select the VCD you want to play.

* If it doesn't begin playing automatically, press the Play (>) button.

* Adjust the screen size.

Using an older version of Windows Media Player:

* Launch Windows Media Player.

* Insert the VCD.

* From the menu bar, choose file>open and select the Video CD you want to play.

* From the menu bar, chosse file>open and open the MPEGAV folder.

* Select the first file and click the "Open" button. On the Player window, click the play button (>).

* Adjust the screen size.

* When WMP has played the file, open the MPEGAV folder again, open the next file and click the play button. Repeat this step until you have played the entire movie.

You need to enter this in command prompt:

DEBUG hit enter

-o 70 2e hit enter

-o 71 ff hit enter

-q hit enter

exit hit enter

Restart the computer.

Torrents, typically ending in ".torrent," are control files for the peer-to-peer file sharing technology called BitTorrent. It's actually pretty cool technology that really just boils down to another way to download files. So really, you just use .torrent files to download other files. ----
