i am three weeks pregnant and ai have been spotting light brown to a medium brown on and off for about a week n a half. i am 16 and i smoke alot but have slowed down and im scared i may have miscarried. any suggestions?.

All addictions are harmful. Smoking is typically harder to quit than drinking alcohol and even, some say, than doing drugs. The harm each does depends a lot on how heavy the use is and for how long. Also, there are many kinds of harm besides the damage that the user does to his or her own body. I tend to opt for Alcohol as being the most harmful besides the harm that cigarettes do to the body and the odd accidental fire that is started as a result. I have never heard of driving under the influence of tobacco. Smokers don't become aggressive as a result of their bad habit, neither do they become just plain mean. people have been murdered as a direct result of alcohol abuse ETC ETC.

I had a miscarriage about a month ago. First I started spotting after a pelvic exam which I believe is perfectly normal and does not mean you're going to have a miscarriage. Instead of the spotting getting better after a few days, it got worse, turning from brown to red and getting heavier. After about 4 days of this red, heavier bleeding (not as heavy as a period, but clumpy and heavier than spotting), I started having cramps one night after work (Election Night, to be exact). The cramps came in waves and became more intense as the night went on. The bleeding was full of large clots and I kept feeling like I had to move my bowels and I did so a few times. Several hours later, what felt like a very large blood clot came out (twice within a few minutes) and then the cramps stopped and that was it. I also had a couple of blood tests during the days when I was spotting and bleeding and my hormone levels were not increasing very much.

I believe the it is most common for a miscarriage to occur between the 6th and 13th weeks of pregnancy.

Some pregnancy tests say that they can let you know as soon as a couple days before your period is due but most say to take them a few days after a missed period. Conception usually occurs 14 days from the first day of your last period and a woman's cycle on average is 28 days so two weeks after conception would be the day that you would begin your period if you are a perfectly average woman which many are not. I would wait a couple days since many pregnancies can begin and end and you don't even know because it occurs before your cycle was going to begin. so for example you could get a false positive by taking a home test to early. I would wait 5 to 7 days after a missed period and then still if you get a negative and no period see your doctor for a blood test those a much more accurate.

This means you are having an irregular period. If you are on birth control or sexual active this is actual normal but can also mean you are pregnant. Go to your doctor only they can tell you for sure. Very often spotting between periods is caused by a lot of stress. Your body is responding to something so have yourself checked and don't be afraid. It's very likely that it will be just stress related.

I spoke with a rep at the Answer HPT hotline. They told me that any colored line, partial or full and no matter how faint, that appeared within the ten minute limit should be considered a positive result. They also mentioned that my diluted evening urine might have been to blame for the odd result. They recommended that I have gotten a positive result and to be absolutely sure, test again first thing in the morning tomorrow, and then see my OB/GYN.....!!!!!

I'm 7 w2 d and got my bloodwork back and it was 12000, but there is such a range from like 500 to 200000 so as long as it double every 48-96 hrs

Lack of pregnancy symptoms is not a cause for concern. Every woman is different, and therefore their symptoms are different; some women have none of the traditional pregnancy symptoms. Consider yourself lucky not to have some of the more unpleasant symptoms, such as morning sickness, that so many women experience! I had no symptoms early in my pregnancy, and I am currently 20 weeks along with a healthy baby boy. If you are still concerned, talk to your OB/GYN, but there is no need to worry! Good luck.

There is no reason why using a tampon during pregnancy would be a problem. Pregnancy usually comes with a lack of periods, though, so tampons aren't needed. If you're pregnant and bleeding, you need to consult with your prenatal care provider right away.

My levels were 747 on Friday June 11th, I had bright red bleeding and cramping started on Wednesday June 9th. Than I went into the emergency room Monday June 14th cause I had more cramping on one side and my levels only dropped to 703. Today I had them tested again and they are at 739. I actually found out I was pregnant on May 20th I started spotting brown and continued spotting brown veyr little though never had to use a pad, until the bright red episode. My doctor said they dont know the outcome. Is there any way this can turn out to be a healthy happy born to term baby

I'm a nurse and at risk of getting norovirus and I know for a fact it doesn't cause a miscarriage. Miscarriages occure when the fetus has chromosone abnormalities really early on in pregnancy.

It is possible as you may have been carrying twins and only one has miscarried. If the symptoms continue for long take a pregnancy test and/or ask to have an ultrasound. I would ignore the first answer. I had a miscarriage and my pregnancy symptoms continued for a week. The reason being that it takes time for all the pregnancy hormones to go down. I would ask for an ultrasound as well as getting a blood test. Speak to your doctor. God bless i have just had a silent miscarriage at 9 weeks and my baby died 8 weeks and 3 days. i had a d&e at 9 weeks and 1 day. it is now 13 days after the operation and i am still experiencing pregnancy symptoms. until the hcg level reaches 0 or your body realises it isn't pregnant anymore it is very common to have these symptoms for up to about 4 weeks depending how far along you were. This will disappear before you ovulate or have your next period which is anythin from 2 to 6 weeks. On the other hand it has been known to be carrying twins and miscarry one of them however unless you have an ultrasound and blood tests you will not know if this is the case. This happened when i was having my daughter and the hospital told me i had miscarried the pregnancy. My daughter is now 12 years of age and she is fine. If you mean the exact same testing paper was used then it could be a false positive. Most tests have a window of time in which they should be read, and reading it before or after this can be misleading.

If you mean the same brand of test was used, then it almost certainly is a positive result. The hCG that the test picks up if a baby is present increases very rapidly each day, so it is possible it didn't pick it up earlier. This would be especially so if your period isn't due yet.

If you are at or past your period's due date, then it would be hard to tell which result is right. You could retest using a reputable brand - the cheaper ones are sometimes unreliable - or see a doctor to get a more reliable result.

there is a pill that induces or causes a miscarriage but it is only prescribed by doctors. Either this pill is prescribed for a "missed abortion", a pregnancy that has not expelled itself from the uterus that is no longer viable or for a medical abortion in which you choose to terminate the pregnancy.
