What could cause a tight burning pain in my upper right arm that extends down to my fingers?
First of all: I'm not a doctor, but was suffering from continuous pains in shoulder, fixed it all myself by reading literature and consulting with real doctors. Be warned.
Possible causes that I think of are: a trauma, a strained muscle, a posture deficiency, and a myofascial trigger point. Or all four together. You probably should visit an orthopaedist first, to check out if you have any posture deficiency, no matter whether it is caused by trauma or not. If you do, then you'll probably be prescribed some corrective treatment, a series of exercises and stretches. It is usually because of posture deficiencies (a short leg, scoliosis, kyphosis etc) one group of muscles is overloaded, and another is overstrained. The latter causes continuous pain. If that is your case, then first identifying, and then stretching the group that is overloaded, and also exercising the weak, overstrained muscles should help immediately within 1-3 days. However, don't do that without consulting a doctor first.

"The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook" by C.Davies Good answer by the first person, I would only add that referred pain can be the result of neurological or vascular injury as well, and should be evaluated by a doctor before undertaking any self-help regimen, as these can result in permanent injury. Some of the things done to relieve muscle strain can aggravate these conditions, so you should have a more definitive diagnosis before undertaking them.
Inflammation is a response from your immune system in response to an irritant. For example, if you sprain your ankle, your immune system creates a protein called a Circulating Immune Complex (CIC for short). The CIC travels down to the injured ankle and causes pain and swelling.
The pain you feel is to inform you of the injury or damage. And the swelling is protective as it prevents you from moving it and causing more irritation. This is also your body's way of running to the problem with fresh blood, antibodies and vital cells in order to begin healing and repairing the damage.

Are doans pills best pill for backaches?
Doan's is just Ibuprofen - if you want a decent OTC med, try one of the following:
1. Bayer Back and Body Aspirin
2. Tylenol Rapid Release Gel Tabs
3. Aleve
Aleve you need to take for a couple of days before you really get the full benefit. The other 2 I use regularly when I don't feel the need for Percocet. Both work fast and great. I'd use Tylenol RRGT's if you need something at night, as the Bayer has caffeine in it.

The standard procedure for lumbar epidurals is 3 injections over a 3 week period. However, if the patient hasn't shown any improvement or relief after the second week, surgical options are considered. As long as the patient is improving, a doctor can make the decision to push the option a bit further.
If your doctor is proceeding with another injection, you must be responding. In any case, painful though they may be, epidurals are nothing compared to spinal surgery, and you should avoid any surgical option as long as other therapies are working.

What causes muscle pain in the head?
Muscle or Myofacial pain in the head is when the muscles in the back of the head pain and tense up.
Most commonly caused by stress, also could be caused by whiplash, or even sleeping on a specific area of the neck in a way that caused the muscles in the back of the head to tense up.
Myofacial pain may develop from a muscle injury or from excessive strain on a particular muscle or a group of muscles, ligament or tendon.
Other causes include:
-Injury to inter-vertebral disc.
-General fatigue.
-Repetitive motions.
-Medical conditions (from heart attack to stomach irritation).
-Lack of activity (such as a broken limb in a sling or cast).
Kimber :)
No, it is not. It's a normal biproduct of anaerobic respiration. After physical exercise the liver converts the lactic acid back to pyruvate which allows it to continue with cellular respiration.
Why do you experience muscle pain a strenous activity?
The exertion tears or stretches the muscle a tiny bit, this is what causes the pain. This pain can be worked out. Just keep up the exersize and work through the pain and if you can after a few days the pain will go away.
What happens when lactic acid builds up?
your muscles take over your neuromuscular body structure therefore causing an extremley irritating rash on your insilin sack. your bodys enzymes cannot function correctly and you turn into a motionless body but can only move abdominals and gluteus maximus muscles almost similar to a worm.
What can a broken collar bone cause in the body if left untreated?
It would likely heal on its own, but the alignment could be off. And it can result in chronic pain later in life if it does not heal right.
Well, if you slept on your pillow differently or in a strange way, it could easily cause this. I have had this happen to me many times before. If you have done any extensive sports or extreme things that you don't normally partake in, that could've tweaked the muscles and pinched the nerves in your neck. Another possibility is if you can drive and you were twisting your neck around to see behind you a lot that could cause this. From my knowledge this is nothing to be all too concerned over unless it persists for the next 72 hours. For now just keep warm washcloths on it and take some ibuprofen if you find it necessary. I'm no doctor but that's my recommendation. If this does persist call your doctor. It could be something fairly serious dealing with your spine.
Hope I helped!

What do you do if your neck hurts?
An incomplete spinal cord injury is characterized by some movement or sensation below the point of injury. As acute treatment becomes much more advanced, incomplete injuries are becoming more common. In an incomplete injury, the patient can often move one limb more than another, may have more function on one side than the other, or might have some sensation in parts of the body that can't be moved.
The effects of an incomplete injury are dependent upon whether the front, back, side, or center of the spinal cord was affected. There are five classifications of incomplete spinal cord injuries: anterior cord syndrome, central cord syndrome, posterior cord syndrome, Brown-Sequart syndrome, and cauda equina lesion.
Physical and drug therapies are used to help the patient recover to full potential.
Any ways, You should just let the medics take care of any spinal injury's!
