Well, none is better, but you can compare traing, which is far supereor when you Are a jtf2. Seals have been around longer the jtf2, but dosn't mean anything. Jtf2 has a training period of 7 months, seals on the other hand only have a solid 4 weeks of pure hell. In comparison jtf2 is tier 1 which to' the seals is Tier 2, which means jtf2 is a tad bit more elite. Both canadian and american forces are practically equal.

Most cooks who serve on smaller vessels (e.g., submarines, destroyers, etc.) and are cooking for smaller crews usually have the opportunity to experiment and excel at their craft, as opposed to those who are cooking for hundreds or thousands at a time. They can be very creative when necessary as well - during our '86 trip to the North Pole, our freezers lost refrigerant and we lost our frozen stores. You'd be amazed at how creative they can be with canned tamales and other non-refrigerated items.

ST6 was created by Richard Marcinko after a failed rescue mission of Navy SEALS and Delta Force in Operation Eagle Claw. This might imply that ST6 could be an "improved" version of the Delta Force in some respect. Also it has been a general knowledge that Delta Force was patterned after the British SAS and ST6 training is very much based on Delta Force training with a few extra tweeks. So technicaly ST6 are based on the S.A.S too.

Really the Acronym SEAL for the Navy Seals more accurately describes the organization than SAL.

SEAL Team 6 (DEVGRU) is probably the best because they are a Special Mission Unit (SMU) just like 1st SFOD-D (Delta Force). You have to be a Navy SEAL before going into SEAL Team 6 so they are more elite than "ordinary" SEALs. But yes all SEAL Teams are very highly trained and elite.

Yes. I have obviously not done it but, as the training program is rumoured to be over a year, I doubt the candidates are kept awake for all of it. However, as with most special operations training programs Im sure sleep deprevation often plays its part.

Upon reviewing online casualty lists from both Iraq and Afghanistan, to date (August 14, 2009) there have been no SEAL's apparently KIA this year. The worst SEAL losses were likely in 2005, when several members of SEAL Team 10 were KIA when their helo was shot down while attempting to reinforce a SEAL recon team under fire.

However, it's important to keep in mind that most SEAL missions are highly classified, and in many cases casualties aren't reported publicly until the mission is over and the members debriefed, and the family notified. So it's entirely possible there may be an unknown number of SEAL casualties we may not know about yet.

Real SEAL's are very quiet concerning the work they do; if you don't know them very well, you'd never know they were SEAL's to begin with. They never brag or draw attention to the fact that they are part of an elite unit.

Fakes on the other hand typically will brag that they either are SEAL's, or used to be. One way to call them is to ask for their challenge coin - no real SEAL would be caught dead without one.
