Was there any nuclear testing in Nevada?
i don't know about Nevada but i know that during WWII there was some testing done in New Mexico. the test was called trinity.
The Nevada Test Site (NTS), directly north of Las Vegas has been used for nuclear weapons tests since 1951. Hundreds of above ground test shots were fired there (including the 280mm Atomic Cannon) up to 1963. Several times that many underground test shots were fired there until testing stopped.
Many of the above ground tests included troop maneuvers, including simulated attacks over highly contaminated areas.
Other tests were done in over half a dozen states as part of Project Plowshare to see if nuclear explosives could be used for mining, construction, etc. peaceful purposes. The Sedan test shot in the NTS was a Plowshare construction test to see how effective they were in earth moving.
Does Saudi Arabia have nuclear capabilities?
Saudi Arabia is not known to have a nuclear weapons program but since the mid-1990s, media reports have periodically alleged that Saudi Arabia is attempting to acquire nuclear weapons. Such rumors have spread in recent years amidst speculation that the Saudis would seek such armaments in reaction to Iran developing a nuclear arsenal. Since Irak has been ocupied by the United States, we assume the Saudis has no nuclear program.
Some concern remains that Saudi Arabia, like its neighbors, may be seeking to acquire nuclear weapons, apparently by purchase rather than indigenous development. While there is no direct evidence that Saudi Arabia has chosen a nuclear option, the Saudis have in place a foundation for building a nuclear deterrent.
Why is it bad if Iran has nuclear weapons?
Answer 1
its not nessicarily bad seen as the us and everywhere else has them and its not fair they shouldn't but just imagine if they got angry at anyone..."bang" goes everyone
Answer 2
Many countries are worried that a Nuclear-Armed Iran could spark a massive Middle East War.
Israel is afraid of what Iran would do if it had a nuclear weapon since Iran has quite clearly stated that it foresees a future where Israel is wiped off the map (regardless of how many times they say that they never said that they will do the wiping). However, there are numerous other countries bordering or near Iran that feel threatened by that country's attempt to acquire nuclear weapons. Bahrain feels especially threatened since Iran has actually called Bahrain its "fourteenth province" and Iranian military leaders have said that suicide bombers are ready to strike at key sites around the Persian Gulf if necessary. Rulers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia have made an increasing rapprochement with the West to have added security from a possible Iranian assault which could come if Iran feels that it can strike with impunity. Such impunity would come from ostensibly having a nuclear weapon and threatening brinkmanship to whatever country would try to stop its conventional attack. We should not be surprised that from February 2006 to January 2007, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Libya, and the Gulf Countries all started or restarted their own nuclear research programs, which is the same period when Iran began to seriously aim for a nuclear weapon.
What are the special features of Antarctica?
Antarctica is Earth's southernmost continent, underlying the South Pole. It is situated in the Antarctic region of the southern hemisphere, almost entirely south of the Antarctic Circle, and is surrounded by the Southern Ocean.
At 14.0 million km² (5.4 million sq mi), it is the fifth-largest continent in area after Asia, Africa, North America, and South America. About 98% of Antarctica is covered by ice, which averages at least 1.6 kilometres (1.0 mi) in thickness.Antarctica, on average, is the coldest, driest, and windiest continent, and has the highest average elevation of all the continents.
Antarctica is considered a desert, with annual precipitation of only 200 mm (8 inches) along the coast and far less inland.
There are no permanent human residents but anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000 people reside throughout the year at the research stations scattered across the continent.
Only cold-adapted plants survive there, including mosses, lichen, and many types of algae. Sea mammals and sea birds breed on Antarctica's beaches.
The name Antarctica is the romanized version of the Greek compound word antarktik, feminine of antarktikos, meaning "opposite to the north".
Although myths and speculation about a Terra Australis("Southern Land") date back to antiquity, the first confirmed sighting of the continent is commonly accepted to have occurred in 1820 by the Russian expedition of Mikhail Lazarev and Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen.
The continent, however, remained largely neglected for the rest of the 19th century because of its hostile environment, lack of resources, and isolation. The first formal use of the name "Antarctica" as a continental name in the 1890s is attributed to the Scottish cartographer John George Bartholomew.
The Antarctic Treaty was signed in 1959 by twelve countries; to date, forty-six countries have signed the treaty. The treaty prohibits military activities and mineral mining, supports scientific research, and protects the continent's ecozone.
Ongoing experiments are conducted by more than 4,500 temporary workers, including scientists of many nationalities and with different research interests. Every experiment or data gathering expedition focuses on learning more about the health of planet earth.

Why is America opposed to Iran having nuclear weapons?
It is evident that Iran's efforts are focused both on uranium enrichment and a parallel plutonium effort. Iran claims it is trying to establish a complete nuclear fuel cycle to support a civilian energy program, but this same fuel cycle would be applicable to a nuclear weapons development program. Iran appears to have spread their nuclear activities around a number of sites to reduce the risk of detection or attack. This seems to be the reason.

But the US also said their were gonna be WMDs in Iraq.....
Can Norway produce nuclear weapons?
Denmark does NOT have any nuclear weapons of its own, but such weapons have been kept at a US-base on Greenland, which is a part of the Kingdom of Denmark. The funny thing is that the Danish Prime minister in 1957 in secrecy was asked by the Ambassador whether the Danish government wanted to be informed in case USA would decide to place nuclear warheads on Greenland, to which the former declined - apparently only consulting a few close advisers. In this way the Danish government have been able to deny for decades that there were any nuclear weapons on Danish territory - even-though everybody suspected that it was not true. The purpose of this charade was not to provoke the Soviets by officially 'inviting' the weapons, but the problem was that the Danish parliament (and people) was also kept in the dark - which obviously is unconstitutional.

Who has stornger nuclear weapon India or Pakistan?
India and Pakistan are among the Non-NPT Nuclear Weapons Possessors:
India and Pakistan never joined the NPT and are known to possess nuclear weapons. Claiming its nuclear program was for peaceful purposes, India first tested a nuclear explosive device in 1974. That test spurred Pakistan to ramp up work on its secret nuclear weapons program. India and Pakistan both publicly demonstrated their nuclear weapon capabilities with a round of tit-for-tat nuclear tests in May 1998.
The following arsenal estimates are based on the amount of fissile material-highly enriched uranium and plutonium - that each of the states is estimated to have produced. Fissile material is the key element for making nuclear weapons. India is believed to use plutonium in their weapons, while Pakistan is thought to use highly enriched uranium.
India: Up to 100 nuclear warheads.
Pakistan: Between 70 to 90 nuclear warheads.
Hence, comparatively India is stronger than Pakistan based on possession of Nuclear Weapons.

Why does Iran want Nuclear Weapons?
For political leverage with other middle eastern countries.
If you ask me the idea of nuclear weapons in Israeli hands just seems like a bad idea, their entire history has been marked with with evidence of their bad temper and arrogant militaristic tendencies.
NOBODY needs nukes; everybody WANTS them because everybody else HAS them. No country is an exception to this. I am a pacifist at heart, but this question is like asking why the US needs nuclear weapons. They exist as a deterrent to attack by other nuclear countries, and they give no leverage in wars with non-nuclear countries like North Vietnam, or Afghanistan in the case of the USSR. Also, Israel uses the Gaza Strip, the Golan Heights, the West Bank of the Jordan River, and (formerly) the Sinai Peninsula as strategic buffer zones through which an enemy must penetrate before attacking Israel. Does not the United States use the Atlantic Ocean, the Pacific Ocean, Mexico, and Canada in the same basic way, but on a larger scale? Like Israel, India is also armed with nukes, and they face two nuclear-armed countries (China & Pakistan), yet relations are civil. An armed society is a polite society, yes? * Yes, their history is indeed filled with violence, as is Western history. * Not everyone wants nukes. Many countries have the capability to build a nuclear arsenal, but they have declined it.
