Absolutely! Make sure you have a sturdy pair of scissors and determine first if you are cutting through anything like wire or some other framework that was used to keep the paper mache solid - you don't want to ruin the scissor blades by cutting metal mesh! Depending on the thickness of the paper mache, you may choose to use heavy duty hobby shears or even metal cutters for maximum ease and efficiency.

The world's record paper chain is 87.4399 kilometers (about 54.3 miles).
This was, however, based on some competitive rules:

How do you make school with cardboard?
What kind? Here is how I made a small cardboard Cessna: What you need: cardboard(Works best with regular cereal box type and regular box cardboard doesn't work that good.), Tape or glue, scissors, and a mind set on making an airplane!
Instructions: cut the cardboard in half, and use one half and fold it in half. then, fold each half of the folded half to the fold. then unfold it and make so it is like a square cylinder, and then play with it and make the back smaller than the front(doesn't matter what the front or back is.). then, cut out the wings out of the other half. save some of that half for some other additions(if you have some other cardboard, you don't have to save any of it.). then, tape or glue it to the front, but leaving some space for the engine etc. then, make vertical and horizontal stabilizers(aka back wings and tail fin). then, cut out a sloped place(for the Cockpit window.). then, cut out a piece of cardboard(If you have clear glass for this, great!)for the cockpit "window" and tape it on. then, make a propeller(just a small rectangle out of cardboard if you want, and that's what I did!) and tape or glue it on the front. You're done!(Optional: make some landing gear by cutting out some small cardboard or balsa rectangles(About the size of the propeller)and then cut out some circles, and tape them on however you like!) Glad to help you!

How do you make a Chinese lantern?
I made a sky lantern as a school project when I was about 10. You can figure out the assembly yourself. it's pretty straight forward, but here are the things I did:
Note:
This could present a large fire risk in some areas. You should time how long it takes to burn the fuel, and consider reducing the amount of fuel used to ensure it doesn't go too far. During one of my launches, the fuel fell out about 10 seconds after launch (because it wasn't secure enough), and the balloon still traveled about 1/4 mile. Luckily we were nearby to extinguish the firelighter which fell.
I managed to make one after purchasing from a company called skylanterns2u. They were really good and told be exactly how to make, even mentioned the fuel cells are made from toilet paper just dipped into old candle wax. Just be very careful, easier to buy the quality ones like I did on the net.
There's a detailed plan for making your own Sky Lanterns at skylighter.com/fireworks/how. to. make/sky. lanterns.asp.
When buying them in the US, always be sure and get the flame retardant ones, like those sold at skylighter.com/mall/novelty.asp. Not all sky lanterns come with flame retardant. Check before you buy.
How do you build a ship out of cardboard that can float in water?
You take cardboard and you build the body of your ship using lots of duct tape. The best I have seen are usually boxes with a slight incline at one end. Careful however, they only last the one use. (I have done this project in school, for more info message me) Actually - the below is wrong - i dont think you can make a "SHIP" out of cardboard its another form of paper so when it gets wet it will sink and you prolly not goin to be able to make a ship maybe if your lucky a boat and that is using other stuff so the cardboard dosent get wet and fall apart next time think things over befor you post them =]

Can you make anything out of shredded paper?
Absolutely! This is has not been experimented as yet...but in theory: First you need plenty of shredded paper. Soak and stir in a warm water/elmer glue (PVA) solution. (Paper mashe) Stir until becomes nice and soupy. Pour in rubber mould...let throughouly dry---perhaps one month--unless it is baked. If you wish, some PVA glue/water over top to give it a nice finishing gloss!! And have a seat!! **Note, to prevent your new green chair from collapsing I recommend choosing a chair design that can withstand weight--i.e. short legs/ or ottoman style** Your Chair may need some sort of supportive brace--or you can basket weave a spine for it out of newspaper or something.*** Try it and send me the pictures...and if you get to selling them, please give me a cut of the proceeds since I came up with the method. --Danielle Romain

It means 'paper folding', from 'ori' - 'folding', and 'kami' - 'paper'. (kami becomes gami here, some words in Japanese change like this when formed into a compound word)

Starting with a single sheet of square colored paper, you can learn to fold all kinds of animals, birds, flowers, boxes, and toys. How much faster does a crumpled paper fall than a flat sheet show a video?
Because there is less surface area on the crumbled piece of paper, there is less area upon which the force of friction (air resistance) may act. There is more surface area on the normal piece of paper, which allows friction to act over a greater area on the paper. More air resistance causes the flat piece to fall slower.
Decoupage is the art of gluing cut-out paper images onto any surface to form a pleasing decorative composition, and then coating the finished product with a varnish or other clear protective coating to preserve the piece. What can be decoupaged? Artists (or "decoupeurs") often decoupage unpainted wooden or papier-mache boxes and even glass plates, but just about anything that doesn't move can be decoupaged. Here are some examples, courtesy of Google Images: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&um=1&sa=1&q=decoupage&aq=f&oq= Here is a basic how-to link (there are many on the internet): http://familycrafts.about.com/cs/decoupage/a/012201a.htm
