What did the flood represent in the Bible?

A miraculous deluge of water God used to discipline His world made evil through human sin.

What happened between genesis Chapter 1 verses 1 and Chapter 1 verses 2?

The Bible is a record of what God wants MAN-kind to know.

The Bible was not written for the angels.

No doubt the angels have their own instructions and messages from God.

Therefore there was probably lots going on in the heavenly realm which involved activities for the angels. God is not one to have his living creatures just sit around idly.

On earth, even animal-LIFE, is constantly doing things.

For that matter, even plant-LIFE, is constantly programmed to do things. They grow, they produce flowers, or fruit, or seed.

Therefore between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2, no doubt there has always been activity going on. As long as there are living things, on earth, or in the heavenly realm, there is always some type of WORK happening. But God did not make mankind privy to everything happening during Universal History. God limited the Bible to the needs of MAN-kind.

What does fortress means in the Bible?

A 'stronghold' or a place that seems impossible to penetrate. This is true of the Jebusites in 2 Samuel 5:6-9 where their 'V' shaped formation made them feel overly confident that they could withstand David and the Israelites.

The Bible speaks of God as a fortress. Interestingly, 2 Samuel 22, verse 3 of that chapter (also Psalm 18:2) is quoted in Hebrews 2:13, and 2 Samuel 22:50 (Psalm 18:49) is quoted in Romans 15:9 as applying directly to Jesus.

What does Assembly of god believe about end times?

The Assembly of God denomination teaches the biblical description of end-time events to be literal, not just symbolic (as some denominations teach). They recognize, however, that there are varieties of opinions on how events will occur, the sequence in which they may occur, and the identification of the participants of these events. Thus, they do not teach opinions beyond clear Biblical statements regarding the details of what will take place.

Specifically, they believe the following aligns with the many Biblical references to end-times, but are not dogmatic about the timelines involved:

1. The Rapture of Christians who are living will occur as the first phase of what is commonly referred to as the Second Coming. (I Thess. 4: 16-17 and I Cor. 15: 51-52). They teach that Christians will be spared from some of the suffering of the last days, but not all the suffering, and that Christians have been told how to live in the last days (Matt. 24: 4-46).

2. A 7-year period called the Tribulation will occur after Christians have been raptured from earth. The last half of this 7-year tribulation period is called the Great Tribulation, and God's wrath will be poured out on earth during this time. The Assemblies of God generally adheres to a "pre-tribulation" view of the rapture, but are generally not dogmatic about this view.

3. At the end of the 7-year Tribulation period, Christ will return to earth with his saints (Christians who are in heaven) following behind him, all riding on white horses (Rev. 19: 11, 14). The ensuing conflict between the world of righteousness and the world of darkness is called the Battle of Armageddon (Rev. 16). After Satan is defeated at the Battle of Armageddon, he is cast into a bottomless pit for 1,000 years (Rev. 20).

4. The 1,000 year period during which Satan is in the bottomless pit is referred to as the Millennium, and will be a period of glory and perfect relationships (Is. 2, 11, 12, 32, 35, 60, 65; Zech. 14). At the end of the 1,000 year period, Satan will be released for "a little season" to test the love, faith, and loyalty of those individuals born during the Millennium who are still untested as to their choice between right and wrong. After this short time, Satan will be permanently cast into the lake of fire (Rev. 20).

5. After the "little season" that Satan is allowed to test individuals at the end of the Millennium, those who are deceived by Satan will be physically destroyed by fire , and all non-Christians will now be dead. Then will follow the resurrection of the wicked dead for final judgment (Rev. 20:11). Books are opened, and the wicked are judged according to their works. Having rejected Christ, their names will not be written in the Book of Life, and they will be cast into the lake of fire to be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Only those who accepted the work that Jesus accomplished on our behalf through his suffering, death, and resurrection will have their names found in the Book of Life, and will spend eternity with Jesus in everlasting glory.

What are the 5 I wills of Satan?

* I will ascend to heaven. * I will raise my throne above the stars of God. * I will sit on the mount of assembly in the recesses of the north. * I will ascend above the heights of the clouds. * I will make myself like the Most High. (Isaiah 14:13-14)

What happened to Pastor Willie Cain?

Pastor Will Cain went through a very low point in his life several years ago. He resigned his church - Kingdom Life Fellowship - and completely backslid. He became a drug dealer and was arrested, convicted and sentenced to 4 years in TDC (Texas Department of corrections). Pastor Will would tell you that, "The Lord loved me enough to lock me up." He repented and was released in Aug 2008. Since then he has served as worship pastor at two churches in Dallas/Ft Worth and San Antonio Texas. The faithful and restoring power of God has touched his life. Now, God is raising Pastor Will back up from the ashes of defeat and is using him like never before. He is traveling and ministering in churches and conferences all over the nation and is preparing to go international in 2011. The prophetic and supernatural power of God accents his ministry in a fresh and incredible way. He is presently working on a praise and worship album entitled "Send Judah First" and also is writing his autobiography entitled, "Back From The Dead." He presently resides in Dallas Fort Worth Texas and is the host of the new and provocative radio show ''Restoration Now'' and is planning on launching and planting a new church ministry in the later part of 2011. Another answer from our community:

That was required by several Canaanite "gods", the Hebrew God prohibited it. The one instance where the Hebrew God requested it (that Abraham sacrifice Isaac) was really a test of trust in God and once that was shown, an alternate sacrifice was made available.

What are Pentecostal standards?

Pentecostal standards are totally different than others. they have contact with god.....

Actually, the "standards" refer to the desire to live holy. The standards apply to our manner of dress and appearance, hair length, TV (usually not in our homes), entertainment choices, etc.

There are also Pentecostal groups such as the Assemblies of God and others who have televisions in their homes. They would just be reminded to carefully choose their entertainment selections. Hair length, dress, and jewelry restrictions in Trinitarian Pentecostal groups are not as stringent as other Pentecostal groups.

Declaration of Faith

The Church of God believes the whole Bible to be completely and equally inspired and that it is the written Word of God. The Church of God has adopted the following Declaration of Faith as its standard and official expression of its doctrine.

We Believe:

  • In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
  • In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
  • That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
  • That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
  • That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
  • In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
  • Holiness to be God's standard of living for His people.
  • In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
  • In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
  • In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
  • Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
  • In the Lord's Supper and washing of the saints' feet.
  • In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
  • In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
