The burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) in industry, transport and the generation of electricity, releases carbon dioxide (CO2) pollution which is causing global warming.

The burning of coal releases other pollutants like sulphur dioxide (SO2) , nitrogen oxides (NOx) , mercury and aerosol particles. This causes acid rain, as well as bronchitis, asthma and other human illnesses.

The two types of population growth are, Logistic Growth and Exponential Growth.

Road salt is one of the methods use to melt ice on roadways during the winter. Because of the chloride it contains, it is a water pollutant.

Deforestation (logging) of area to create the mine and roads to transport the mined products. That can result in loss of wildlife and or extinction of species. Chemicals and/or vapours that are produced in smelting get placed in the atmosphere. Not to mention all the resources like metal, electricity and oil/petroleum to buid a mine and support an active mine. Emissions from vehcles or tranport to transport it. The salt bit I'm not so sure about apart from the vapours and chemicals that are dispersed into the atmosphere. I guess it contributes to global warming. And as far as oil goes there is also the burn off of oil that cannot be used or isn't the appropriate grade.

Pollution is harmful to people because the pollutants, by getting inside the lungs and settling there, do damage to whole body by destroying the parts of the lungs and by reducing the oxygen in your body which makes your life time shorter. Pollution causes a variety of diseases which are very fatal.

All living things need water because they need to obtain chemicals from their surroundings, break down food, grow, move substances within their bodies, and reproduce.

the oil killed quite alot of animals especially fish because the got alot of oil in their gills wich they breath through also animals such as sea otters couldn't feed because theire favorite was sea porcupines wich are just like spikey balls that are purple well they couldn't get those since they live on the sea floor it was hard for the sea otters to see and alot of times dried up spikey oil clumps were mistaken for the sea porcupines and sea otters just fed on those
