What are the main causes of heavy metal pollution?

Coal processing/burning, incineration of electrical/industrial parts and trash. Also particular sources locally: eg. arsenic can occur locally from treated wood/lumber, or lead from old paint in soils.

What are the problems caused due to dirty water?

  1. Some effects are disease and sickness, but these are pretty obvious. Sorry!

Harmful effects of wind?

High gusts of wind can cause great destruction they can destroy your house or shelter, and blow debris which can cause harm to you or your animals.

What can you do to stop pollution?

It would be impossible to stop pollution as even natural occurances produce it, naturals fires, volcanoes, cow manure etc. all produce pollution but they are natural occurances. However this is not to say that we can't seriously slow it down. Less mass beef production would produce less manure. Man made pollutants such as car emmisions are one of the worst contributers and eventhough it's the production and disposal of the vehicle that produces most of the pollution we can use more mass transit like busses and subways. The fuel is also a contributing factor we can drive less and use more efficient vehicles and work on cleaner fuels. Cars that run on compressed air would produce zero emmisions and are currently in the development stage. These could go dozens of feet each day.

Manure is not a pollution. Manure is a fertilizer and causes zero pollution. Animals are not a source of pollution issues. Mass beef production reduces pollution issue at the expense of the animals.

What health problems can Polyurethane cause?

HANDLING POLYURETHANE FOAM SAFELY

1. Polyurethane foam is a by- product of the same process that is used to make

petroleum. It is highly flammable.

2. Polyurethane foam ignites easily and burns rapidly. It should be kept away

open flames and sparks.

3.When it burns, polyurethane releases a great amount of heat and toxic

fumes.

4. Burning polyurethane can cause suffocation in a poorly ventilated area.

5. Polyfunctional isocyanate and polyester polyol should be handled with

gloves.

6. DO NOT INGEST THE POLYURETHANE FOAM - some foams have

flame retardant additives that can be toxic if ingested. Whether or not

the foam you are working with contains them, it should not be ingested

or even placed in the mouth. (JUST LIKE ANY OTHER

CHEMICAL!)

Does gasohol produce pollution?

yes it does 3,00,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide per 1000 kg burned.

Do raw materials cause pollution?

Raw materials can cause almost all of the problems of manufactured goods or waste. As an example stockpiles of ore can have leachate problems including soluble materials and acid drainage from bacterial action. Organic materials (wood chips, vegetable products) can lead to water contamination. Stored crude oil can leak and contaminate groundwater.

Does fog cause pollution?

heck no, its just a normal weather like rain or snow.

How do python's harm the environment?

At the present time an invasive species, the Burmese Python, is over running Florida's Evergaldes. Biologists have noted that the snakes are impacting the populations of oppossums, raccoons, deer, and maany birds. This impact is a severe changge to the local environment as all of these species have a role in the local ecology

What is the changes in the environment that can give us harmful effects?

it changes the temperature and weather changing. Why? because it affects us harmful effects.

What is a leaded gasoline?

A leaded gasoline is one that has a lead-containing compound in it.

For many years the number one anti-knock agent was tetra-ethyl-lead. After epidemiological research showed that the lead dust coming from car exhausts was a major cause of lowered intelligence in children the use of this chemical was quickly phased out. The use of any lead compound in gasoline has been a Federal offence for some years now. Leaded gasoline is still available as a high octane aviation gasoliine.

How can you control pollution in tanneries?

Its very difficult to answer. But ways are there to control. We have go for vegetable tannins instead of using hexavalent chromium can use tetravalent chromium. Anykind of industrial pollution should be controlled by its process itself. Go for eco friendly alternative chemicals during the process. Effluent treatment plants should be strictly maintained, monitored and controlled by eminent technologist.

Identify two different forms of global pollution and describe how each may harm the local environment?

Two different forms of global pollution that describe how each may harm the local environment are:

Air Pollution: Photochemical smog is bad to breath

Water Pollution: Beaches collect trash and other unidentified Items. This trash can impact animal life

What is a floating rubber device used to contain oil spills?

A boom is a floating spill containment system. It can be made of ubber, wood or any other buoyant material and fabric.

How do primary pollutants form?

There are two main types of primary pollutants: man-made pollutants and natural pollutants. Man-made primary pollutants are formed largely from combustion reactions used to create electricity and run the over one billion cars that are in the world today. These pollutants include Sulfur oxides (Sulfur dioxide, Sulfur trioxide), Carbon oxides (Carbon dioxide, Carbon monoxide), and Nitrogen oxides (Nitrogen dioxide, Nitrogen monoxide). Another type of man-made primary pollutant includes VoCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), which are largely responsible for destroying the ozone layer.

Natural primary pollutants are formed by natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornados, and volcano eruptions, and include dust, ash, and salt particles.

Does hydrogen harm a car engine?

NO

BUT

Hydrogen is an alternative fuel and with all alternative fuel changes must be made to account for the different burn characteristics to ensure the engine will not be harmed.

What are banned pollutants?

Banned pollutants are substances that are prohibited from being produced, used, or released into the environment due to their harmful effects on human health and ecosystems. Examples include certain heavy metals, persistent organic pollutants (POPs) like DDT, and specific industrial chemicals such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Regulatory frameworks, such as the Stockholm Convention, aim to eliminate or restrict these pollutants to protect public health and the environment. The ban often stems from scientific evidence linking these substances to serious health risks and ecological damage.

How do unemployment affects on environment pollution?

Unemployment can lead to increased environmental pollution in several ways. When economic activity slows due to high unemployment, there may be less investment in clean technologies and environmental protections, as businesses focus on short-term survival. Additionally, abandoned industrial sites may become sources of pollution, as they are often left unmanaged and deteriorate over time. Conversely, in some cases, reduced economic activity can lead to temporary decreases in pollution levels due to less industrial production and vehicle use.

Does the US own any part of BP oil?

Not really. The US is the owner of all offshore mineral rights, but through lease sales of offshore blocks, the US leases out the rights to explore and produce oil in particular blocks over a defined time periods. BP is entitled through the leasing contracts to sell all the oil it produces. The US does make money through royalty payments on oil that BP sells.

When lakes are polluted by acid rain the water appears to become clearer not cloudier why?

I think that happens because acid is powerful enough to disingrate the minerals in the water creating a thinner liquid.
