Pontiac Grand Prix

The spindle on the Pontiac Grand Prix, rear axle is retained by four bolts 17 mm in size. (usually, sometimes 18mm) Remove wheel. Remove the disk or drum however equipped. (A drum should just slide off. Check for thin metal "keepers" on two of the studs. ) If it is a disk, remove the caliper via two retaining bolts. (they need a torx brand driver to remove) remove the disk by sliding it off. The hub assembly is a modular unit. It is sealed and thus has to be removed as a unit. There is a large hole in the hub to facilitate the removal of the retaining bolts through the hole. Remove the bolts, and that's it. To install, reverse the process. The hub assembly needs to be torque correctly. Ask the auto parts store for the torque settings. Special note: The front hub assembly is the same in that you need to follow the same directions as the rear. The only exception is that the drive axle passes through the assembly using "splines". Be carfull not to damage the threads on the axle.

The compass needs calibrating, very easy to fix. Take your car to a parking lot and drive it in circles 1 or 2 times. It's in the manual.

Are you just dropping the pan and refilling or complete fill capacity? This information can be found in your owner's manual. Don't have one get one. Dealer or salvage yard is a source. Get a Haynes repair manual #38010. It is a good investment in your car and will give you that info. The answer for mine is 4 qts.

just pull the snout plug on the sc and use an old windex bolte lid to swirt the old oil in to then u will need two bottles of gm s/c oil for a gm dealer costs about 10- 15 bucks a bottle only u 8 ounces aka 1 1/2 bottles then re place plug

10W30. I would suggest Castrol GTX oil. Should take 4.5qts including oil filter

i don't know for sure but i was finally able to find out where you will know. go to www.autozone.com. type in the make and model of the car and click on repair guides. it tells you step by step how to do it along with pictures and its all free. the most you will have to do is log in and if you don't have a log in its free as well so its well worth it especially if your like me and have to have pictures instead of just words. good luck

just foolow the upper radiator hose as this should lead you to the thermostat . this should be located on the driver side of car on top of engine. you might have to take plastic engine cover off. hope this helps.

Remove the window regulator and motor from the door as an assembly. Drill out rivets that hold motor to regulator and replace motor. Regulator needs to be riveted back into door for reassembly
