At what age should a pug stop having puppies?
Pugs should be ideally be bred as soon after they are one year old as possible as they tend to whelp easier then. They should have their last litter by the time they are five because whelping is very hard for them and older bitches tend to have sick pups and extremely difficult births. They should also not be bred more than once a year and a total of three or four litters maximum.
There are four types of pugs I know about.......#1.fawn.......they are a yellow-blonde color with some hairs of black........#2.black........well,of course these pugs are black.......#3.silver.........they are rare (from what hear) They are mixtures of black and fawn. i personaly have only seen a picture of one...........#4.apricot......they are an orangey color......i have only seen a few.....they might also be rare.......i'm not sure..................that are th only pugs i know about......for all i know there could be more............hope i could help! :)

The only things with a pug delivery is that you need to be on hand to open the sacks and cut the cords as most pugs are unable to do this due to the way they are built. If not the puppies will suffocate in the sacks in a short period of time. Pugs can be a little slower at giving birth than other breeds and don't be surprised if labor goes on for 6 to as much as 12 hours. If you see A LOT of blood that's really bright red, or if you smell something on the bitches breath that smells a bit like paint thinner you need to RUN to your nearest vet clinic. Pugs are not normally given to having a lot of problems while birthing except to need you to open the sacs.

I have a 6 weeks and 18 weeks old dogs and they love to drink cold water. I monitored them and everything seems ok. I tried to give them room temperature water and they do not drink it. So I put cold water (bottled water) in there bowl and they love it! I found it not good to give animals "tap" water, too much chemicals, etc. in it.

How do you clip my purebred pugs toenails?
Either take them to a groomer and have them do it (easy), or buy a pair of clippers for yourself, and clip them off just like human fingernails (cheap). NO NO NO you do not clip them like human fingernails!!!!! A human finger and a dog "toe" are COMPLETELY different. The best thing to do is take the dog to the vet. or to a groomer and ask them to let you watch and to show you what to do and what NOT to do. If you cut the nail to short you will hurt the dog and there will be A LOT OF BLOOD!!!!!

If your puppy came to you with Red Mange (Demodectic Mange)then of course any reputable breeder should be responsible and either pay the bills or take back the puppy. The fact that your puppy has mange which is probably hereditary (therefore the female dog should not be bred from) suggests that you probably purchased from a puppy farm or not a reputable breeder and having no contract of sale would also suggest that. In which case you really would do better to report the breeder to the authorities and cut your losses. I am not a lawyer so don't know where you stand legally but wish people would do more research on where they get their puppies from, there are many good breeders out there and a cheap puppy from a puppy farm can end up being very expensive in the long run as I am sure you are finding out.
