Answer: it depends. Honestly, rabbits are for intelligent people with patience and time on their hands. Rabbits require about 6-10 hours of time out of their pen a day and interaction. They need to be out-smarted a lot, and keeping them occupied and busy is a tough task.

They are not a pet for children.

I rarely recommend rabbits as pets unless I am positive that the person is 100% capable of raising a rabbit properly.

Do wild rabbits carry diseases?

Yes they might have a diseases so just wash your hands after handaling, and make sure you don't totch them in the wild because their mom won't come back if there is human scent on them and they will all die if you keep them:( I have had experience...........ACTUALLY ITS A MYTH THAT THE MOM WONT RETURN... SHE ONLY SPENDS FIVE MINUTES A DAY FEEDING HER BABIES AND IS AWAY FROM THE NEST ALL DAY. SO PEOPLE ASSUME SHE HAS ABANDONED THEM... SHE WILL COME BACK LEAVE THEM WHERE YOU FIND THEM...

Trap a rabbit?

You would first need to know what a rabbit's track looks like.Get a book on trapping or animal lore.If you are hunting in winter,it should be fairly easy to track in the snow.On more open lands or in brush, tracking will be much more difficult due to various conditions, such as hard or packed dirt or low-growing brush. You will need to go hunting the same way a hawk does-by sight.A rabbit will run and rest.Usually just under a low-growing bush. When you come close,he will run again and rest again. When he runs, you can make him pause long enough to get a shot at him by whistling in a shrill,2 second blast. This makes him think it is the distress call of another rabbit. It has worked for me for years.

Why is it important to clean out your rabbits hutch regulary?

When rabbits -- or any animals -- are allowed to live in filth, they will get sick, like from bacterial infections, parasite infestations, breathing problems, or other sicknesses. Also, the animal will become depressed and suffer from emotional problems.

You should keep your rabbit's cage very clean. Every day or two you should sweep out the old hay and food bits, wash the dishes (including water bottle), and scoop out the used litter. Every few months you should thoroughly wash out the cage.

How long do rabbits nails grow?

Rabbits nails never stop growing. Although the nails grow slowly, it will gradually get long enough where it can trip over them while walking. If the nails are visible through the rabbits paws, you need to clip them. Ask your vet how to do it the right way and you can buy specially made small animal nail clippers and do it yourself! Don't cut the pink part of the nail! That hurts!

Why does your male rabbit have bald patches?

If it is in the cage with other rabbits, male or female, it may be because he is trying to mate with them and they are not happy with it and are bitting to get him away.. if he is alone, he may be very stressed out. double check your cage environment, cage location, and who touches the rabbit. these are all very critical

I would personally recommend against using any commercial product not created specifically for rabbits/small animals. If you are unable to hold your rabbit safely for long enough to wipe it with a damp towel, take it to a vet and have them shave the area off, which is what I had to do with my own rabbit.

Does the human eye get bigger when it sees something beautiful?

Do you need a rabies shot after bitten by a rabbit?

Not all rabbits need shots, but some rabbits do. Whether or not your rabbits need shots depends on where you live (for instance, in the UK, rabbits need shots against Myxomatosis and VHD; in Canada, they don't need any shots). Your vet can tell you whether or not your rabbit needs shots.

Can you keep a hare in Queensland?

No.

Rabbits are banned as pets in Queensland as they pose too great a risk to the environment through the actions of irresponsible pet owners who happily abandon their pets out in the bush. Rabbit licences are also not issued for educational purposes. There is no need for a school to keep a pet rabbit when a guinea pig will do just as well.

That means you cannot get a licence to keep rabbits in Queensland. Exceptions may be made for certain animal sanctuaries, but some of these keep rabbits illegally - or out of ignorance - because it is too difficult for them to obtain the necessary permission. Fines are quite high and it is not worth the risk.

Can netherland dwarf rabbits handle cold weather?

No, these types of rabbits usually have short hair. These rabbits get cold faster than normal sized rabbits like Rex rabbits. To keep them warm in cold weather, cover the cage with a heavy, warm blanket (this will prevent cold air). Next, give your rabbit a little extra food and treats. And always give your pet rabbit plenty of fresh water.

How long do holand lops grow for?

Holland lops can grow to be a foot, weighing 2-4 pounds. I like to keep mine around 3 pounds for a happy medium. If anyone is wondering how to feed it, I would do 3 ounces for 3 pounds, 2 ounces for 2 pounds etc...

How do you bathe a holland lop rabbit?

Normally rabbits don't need to be bathed. There is however a special shampoo for rabbits (most pet stores would probably have it). Get some clean, warm water and gently dunk the rabbit in it (do NOT put head under). Put a small dab of rabbit shampoo on it and rub it around the rabbit. Then dunk the rabbit back in. Have another container of warm water for rinse. Take the rabbit out of the soapy water and dunk it in this. When all the soap is washed off, dry the rabbit either by towel or blow dryer.

There is a waterless shampoo spray you can get at pet stores that you just spray on your rabbit.
