They just glue it on at the factory.
So just pull hard and twist it at the same time, and it will come off quite easily.

When an electric Megane runs low on power, the driver can pull into a charging station where a charged battery is swapped in. Instead of paying for gas, the driver is charged a usage fee for distance traveled, much in the same way mobile phone users are charged per minute of use.

How do you dissable immobilisor on a Renault Megan?
to do this, you need to enter the code, then whilst the engine is running, you need to remove the fuse marked BIC/Ilum, turn the engine off and on and then replace it, the drawback with this, is that the engine management warning light will flash when the engine is running at below 1500rpm, also the immobilizer light will flash, this can be turned off by holding in the central locking button for a few seconds.
I had this, I read it is caused by an empty windscreen washer bottle so filled it but no luck. I then read somewhere that a window may be slightly open and its actually the alarm warning making the beeps so open/closed all windows and still it was happening. i then read that the child lock button may have got 'stuck' or more to the point failed in some way, so clicked it once or twice and realised the red light on the switch showing lock as 'on' hadnt come on, so pushed it a bit harder when doing it again and Voila! Problem solved!
As it happens, the problem WAS something to do with the child locks! It 'sort of' righted itself, when I did similar stuff to your suggestions, but it was so long ago now, and even at the time I didn't know what I did - just that it was something to do with the child locks etc. I shall make sure I try the lock switch first if there is a next time.

to me it sounds like an ignition coil problem ive changed mine 3 months ago and now its playing up again try removing coil if you see one with orange powder on the bottom its most likely to be caused by rain water leaking in to that area another common Renault fault, i would replace all 4 coils but don't take it to a garrage as they will charge about £150 buy a set of 4 from eBay for around £40 and change them yourself very easy to do its just 1 bolt per coil hope this helps

in the top of the glove compartment you can see a fold down flap being held in place by 2 clips. Release clips and fuse board drops down. Cigarette lighter fuse is on this board.

In Megane / Megane Scénic --99: When viewed from the front of the car, it's located on the right side of the engine block, in the back wall under the plastic rain cover. It's a small (about the size of couple of matchboxes) black plastic box. There's one wire and one thin tube connected to it.
The tube is usually a source of problems, as it can easily crack. When this happens, it lights up the "Electronic Malfunction" warning light in the dashboard.
When removing the map sensor, be extra careful not to break the four small plastic clips that hold it in place, as they can be fragile. Also the tube connects to a small "pipe" under the map sensor that can break if bent.

For S reg yr 1996 Could be electrics or mechanical. For me it is mechanical - Ball joint come apart due to Socket worn out. Now trying to find a way to fix rather than visit scrap yard to find whole wiper assembly.

yr99 - 1.6 This fault lies at the rear of the wiper motor it involves removing the wiper motor. Carefully lever off the plastic wheel box cover clips at rear of wiper motor
and you will see three copper sprung contacts these copper strips need to bent slightly to improve their contact with the park contacts on the wheel.

I found the trip meters kept resetting as well - don't leave it too late taking to Renault though, when the whole display started flashing on and off it added about 100 miles per flash to the odometer

How do you replace the Renault scenic fuel filter?
By separating fuel hoses from the filter. Don't remove hoses from the "adapters" but press adapters "buttons" and pull adapter away from filter - hard (I used Tongue-and-groove pliers). It's recommended to remove engine side hose first 'cause pressure is smaller on that side. I also minimized fuel leaking by blocking the tank side hose with Locking pliers.
When both hoses are separated from filter you can simply pull (and turn if stuck) old one out from the plastic band which holds it in place. Then you can push new one on the band and assembly (=push) hoses with adabters on the new one. Remember to check direction of the fuel flow and assembly filter right way around (arrows from tank to motor).
