I would say German Shepherd because they are loyal as anything to you and protective naturally for family too! They are also so smart and caring and really seem to understand your emotions.

There should not be a difference. Each breed has a written standard prepared by the American Kennel Club as to how it should look. An ethical breeder will breed to the standard, not over or under it.

A well bred Rottie should look like the standard for the breed. There should not be different looks for working or pets. They are a working breed. All should be able to be both, pets and working.

The only breed I can think off that there is a difference is the Labradors. If you look at the Labs bred to be Field Trialers or for hunting, they are much leggier and have larger heads but the ones shown in AKC conformation shows are much shorter on the leg and have smaller heads. This should not be but breeders will be breeders. There is only one standard per breed as written up by the AKC.

There is so difference between and American rottweiler and a German rottweiler. Rottweilers originated from Germany. It all depends if you buy a rottweiler from Germany or America. Remember to get a trusted breeder! :)

I don't think so. Beagles (if purebred) have a black spot on their tongue. Purebred chowchows have a purple tongue. I think it is just a purebred symbol. We had a rottweiler with black splotches on his gums, and he was purebred.

Many rottweilers are very friendly and if used to strangers, can be cuddled with. As with any powerful breed that is known to be held and trained by some to be aggressive towards humans, you should make absolutely sure beforehand by checking with its owner that this specific rottweiler can be totally trusted and that is has no sensitive spots on his head or body that it doesn't like to have touched.
