My NJ ticket only list careless driving on ticket. How do I know for sure If I'm charged with careless or reckless driving in NJ. There is a 3 point difference between the 2 infractions?

The ticket only says careless driving, so that is all you will get charged with. If you are charged with reckless driving, you can present the ticket as proof you were not given anything about it.

How drunk is too drunk to drive?

Any drunk is too drunk to drive. Even at less than twice the legal limit (almost drunk)

even if you're too tired... DO ... NOT.... ATTEMPT... TO.... DRIVE....!!!

Even after two or three drinks a person's reflexes, vision, coordination, etc., may be affected enough to prevent them from driving safely. A person who is intoxicated doesn't realize they are drunk; they think they are just as sober as one who has had nothing to drink. So anytime you plan to go to clubs, bars, etc., always have a designated driver or call a cab. A life (or lives) is NOT worth the risk; just ask the millions of people who have lost a loved one due to drunk driving.

Is tire pressure based on the tire or the vehicle?

The tire, the vehicle. anticipated speed, temperatures, cornering requirements and the roadway are all factors that determine the optimum inflation. Most don't need to be considered by street cars, but must be factored in for racing at high speeds.

What total distance will be covered by traveling at 50 mph for 75 minutes?

Mandy is driving north of 50km/he. If his sister is driving another car at a velocity of -25km/hr, in what direction is she driving?

Can you drive under water?

Do you need a license to operate a submarine?

For personal watercraft submarines (those that don't really dive but can go underwater a small amount) it depends on the locality, similar to any State, City, or Town that may or may not require a license to operate certain vehicles.

For larger submersibles (1 and 2 man submarines), they need to be fully certified and they're large enough to require a ship/tender to be launched from, so rather than a license, there's usually a certification/qualification procedure that the pilot must go through.

For tourist submarines, licensing is the same as it is for any maritime vessel carrying passengers.

How many braking systems a vehicle should have 4 or 5?

Normally, a vehicle has ONE braking system that includes the brake pedal, the brake master cylinder, newer cars then have the Anti-Lock Braking System, then there are either disc type or drum type brakes at each wheel, and everything is connected with small metal and rubber hoses that allow the pressurized brake fluid to activate the brake pads and/or brake shoes that cause the friction necessary to slow your vehicle.

Do speed bumps cause tires to lose air?

No. Suspension damage, probably, tire damage, probably, but no they don't lose air. If you are losing air you probably have a slow puncture, or worse damaged wheels, or possible damaged beading. The only time a speed bump would cause air loss is on aready incorrectly inflated tires.

What are the colors of the warning signs that indicate hazards ahead such as curves in the road or narrow bridge?

The signs usually are yellow with black outline or trim for example sharp turn. The background would be yellow but the arrow would be black

If you are in Europe, such signs are triangles with red borders and a white or yellow background. Scandinavian countries use the yellow, while most of Europe uses the yellow for construction.

How old do u have to be to sit in the front seat?

It depends on the country and state(in us). As I know it, there is no rule for cars without airbag, but for the ones with airbag it is 12. Some places it is 10. And sometimes it goes by height. Here we have a rule that says: 12 and over 1.50 cm. You should try to ask for the place you live, or ask someone in the comunity that might know.

Traffic safety is an exact science?

In many areas yes.

Timing of traffic lights must be exact or cross traffic will crash.

Curves need to be sloped at a specific grade for the curve to help cars keep control

in a turn.

Lanes need to be a certain width for vehicles to pass safely.

Guard rails are built to sustain a certain amount of impact from a vehicle.

Tires are designed in a certain way to allow water to run off them easier, or to have better traction.

Brakes are designed in a specific way to allow them to stop a vehicle safely.

Airbags are designed to come out at a certain force, when a certain amount of impact is reached, depending on the collision and size of person in the seat.

To name a few.

How many inches can you park from the curb?

It depends on the state/country you are in. Some states/countries say it should be no more than 12 inches, while others give more or less leeway.
12-inches in most places
You should not park "on a curb". You should park parallel to it.

Some communities will ticket you if you're more than 12 inches from the curb.

The best parking job places your wheels 6 inches from the curb.
12 to 18 inches by law, depending on the state you are in.

Closer than a foot is safer because it keeps your vehicle further from moving traffic.

What do you use to prevent friends who have been drinking from driving?

Beg, plead, coerce, steal their keys, trick them, do whatever it takes to prevent them from getting behind the wheel.

How can you determine at what speed a car will hydroplane?

There are too many variables that affect automobile hydroplaning speed such as weight, tire pressure, tire tread design, tire wear, road surface, road condition (i.e., depth of contaminating snow, slush water, etc.) and so forth to be able to develop a valid, useful formula. However, with respect to airplanes where runway surface conditions, tire tread, tire pressure, and other factors are maintained to a more consistent standard, the generally accepted rule of thumb is 9 times the square root of the tire pressure. For example, if the nosewheel tire pressure is 90 lbs., the square root would be 9.5, which, if you multiply by 9, would give you an expected nosewheel hydroplaning speed of 85.5 nmph. Obviously, automobile hydroplaning speeds would be much lower than that. According to testing cited by the NTSB, the speed at which hydroplaning can be expected to occur in a vehicle is 10.35 x square root of the tire pressure.

:It is about 30-45 mph. When I drive in rain I'm always super careful.

That's incorrect, hydroplaning can occur at any speed when your tires do not have direct contact with the road surface.

How far ahead should you scan the road when you drive in the city?

When driving in the city you should scan the road at least by 1 to 1.5 blocks to ensure safety of everyone.
