What is the button by the shifter of a automatic SC1 for?

the only button I know by the shifter is the for economy setting and power setting..from what I understand it changes the parameters in the computer control module to give the car more power and pep on the power setting or on economy setting it changes them to where the engine runs more efficiently. there is also a button that is usually on the dash near the shifter that controls the traction control if your car is equiped with that option, but that is usually on the dash, but I have seen them next to the shifter...if it is that button when you engage it you will get a light on the instrament panel showing traction control engaged. How do you set the clock in a 1998 Saturn sl1?

So. I haven't had to do this in over 2 years... but if my memory serves me right, you make sure the tuner is turned off, then you press in the volume knob; as the volume knob is pressed in you hit the tuner station up/station down button; the right side of it is for minutes, while the left side is for hours.

Hope that works!

Why do my rpms drop to 500 or below when I push in the clutch when I am coming to a stop after about a second or so they go back up to my 1000 idle speed?

Most likely your throttle plate is dirty and needs to be cleaned That is the first step The next step would be to check your Idle Air Control motor. The third step would be to check your coolant temp sensor as this can cause to rich or lean a condition and mess up your idle

Where is the odometer cable on the Saturn SC 2?

There is no odometer cable. The odometer is controlled electronically via the vehicle speed sensor reading. The PCM converts this into an electrical signal and sends the signal to a drive motor located right behind your cluster face.

How long will a 2002 sl Saturn run?

How well do you maintain it? The Saturn engine is well engineered and is capable of running several hundred thousand miles if you keep the fluids full and change the lubricant at the proper intervals using a high quality oil.

Most machine shops will recommend full synthetic if you want an engine to last.

But it's up to the owner.

Where is the fill spout for radiator on 2001 Saturn sl2?

Saturn's did not have a place on the radiator to fill the coolant; you'll need to look for the coolant reservoir, which was typically somewhere in front of the passenger. Note the fill level marks on the side of the reservoir; do not exceed the appropriate mark. (one for when the engine is hot, the other for when the engine is cool.) and do not open the reservoir when the engine is hot.

A warped or otherwise damaged clutch disk or a faulty clutch master or slave cylinder could be preventing the clutch from completely disengaging when you depress the clutch pedal.

Is there a band adjustment on a 2002 Saturn SC2 automatic transmission?

No, newer transmissions do not offer band adjustments as an option. Generally the newer transmissions will last longer with less maintenance, but when they're gone, it's a major repair.

What kind of oil does a 1995 Saturn SL1 need?

Depends on how much money your willing to spend. Idealy synthetic is the best however its expensive. Personally I use Castrol GTX high mileage. Remember since you should be changing the oil every 3K miles, its good to pick an oil that fits your budget

Replaced the crankshaft sensor as per the code check engine light still stay on cycle code and you still says chrankshaft senor Does any one know what it could be?

The crankshaft sensor code is generic for a general ignition problem. It can be the spark plug wires, or fouled plugs. Most likely, you have one or two bad ignition coils that need to be replaced (this was the case with my 97 SL2 with that code). In my SL2, I replaced both the 1/3 & 2/4 coils (about $80 total) and the code disappeared and hasn't been back since.
