Why do people have eczema?

We don't know why each person has eczema. I think it could be different reasons for different people.

With that said, it is likely there is a cause. For some it is food allergies, for others, it might be something else. Don't believe someone if they tell you there isn't a cause. Keep seeking answers and you may find them.

With our son, food allergies are the main cause. He had really bad eczema and once we eliminated foods he was allergic to, it cleared up 90%.

Does inflammation in the body cause skin rashes that itch?

Allergies can show themselves through various skin reactions. The main reactions are rashes (small bumps or larger red patches), hives (also called urticaria; itchy, red raised patches on the skin), or eczema (also called atopic dermatitis; an itchy, weeping rash). These symptoms can have various causes. Most often it is allergies, but some people get hives from heat, cold or sun exposure. Contact allergies/dermatitis is defined as a skin rash caused by direct contact with a substance to which the skin is sensitive. Symptoms include a red rash, swelling, and itching. In more severe cases, blisters can form. Many substances can cause allergic contact dermatitis: poison ivy and other plants (such as tomato plants), wool, perfumes and dyes (in soaps, detergents, lotions, etc.), metals (in jewelry, hair clips, etc.), locally applied medicinal ointments such as antibiotic creams, and latex (often used in latex gloves). These can occur at any age and can appear at any time. It can take years for a sensitivity to a particular substance to develop, so "I've used this for years" isn't a reason to exclude anything from the possible allergen list. Symptoms may appear as soon as 7 to 10 days from first contact. Once a sensitivity develops, however, the reaction can occur in 24-48 hours. Treatment of contact dermatitis generally consists of avoiding the allergen. To determine whether or not something is the cause, patch tests (a small amount of the substance applied to the skin, then covered and left for 24 hours) can often show whether or not that substance causes the reaction. Other allergies can cause rashes, too. Some find that citrus fruits cause small raised bumps when ingested. Eczema is often caused by a food allergy, though there may be other causes. Cow's milk is a particularly common allergen for those with eczema. Avoiding allergens provides long-term relief, while short-term relief can be had by using moisturizers on the skin and taking antihistamines. Some find that using all cotton clothing and bedding makes a difference. Hives can be caused by a number of factors, not just allergies. Hives occur suddenly and may end suddenly, though there are chronic cases where hives are present for a month or more. Other causes of hives are sun exposure, heat and cold. Again, avoidance is the primary treatment.

How do you clear your face from acne in one week?

There is no possible way to actually CLEAR you skin in one day, but cleaning it good enough in the morning and night and drinking 3 16oz. glasses of water each day helps clear you skin rather quickly.

Drinking water is a very important part of achieving cleaner skin. What the water does is it oxygenates your system, and cleans out you bladder and stomach. Surprisingly, your urine SHOULD NOT be yellow. You urine should be a clear fluid that exits your body.

When drinking water, the water goes through your throat and down to your stomach. You stomach's acids then digest the water and then send it to your bladder. If, however, to much acids get to the water, then your urine WILL be yellow.

I am concluding now, that drinking water helps clear and oxygenate your system, and helps clear your skin.

Another way to clear your skis is by using facial cleansing products. I use Clean and Clear. Washing your face 2 times a day is enough. Because you want clear skin so quickly, you may go over board with the scrubbing. Doing so can irritate your skin, and then make your pores create oil faster. As you know, the oil that your pores produce can also then produce more pimples.

Over scrubbing your face causes your pores to become smaller, and then they HAVE to expand, because the oil is building up in them. The pores have no choice but to create a little mound of skin over the oil, and try to hold back the oil from getting spread all over your face. Then, the pimple or zit grows larger if you do not wash your face enough.

Another way to clear your face is to NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE AFTER WASHING IT! If you do touch your face AT ALL, you should do it with clean hands. Doing it with oily hands is NOT the way to go. Doing so, would then create more pimples or zits by spreading the bacteria and oil all over your face.

The last way to clear your face is to moisturize! No matter how fair your skin is, or how oily it is. ALWAYS moisturize your skin. I especially have these REALLY rough patches of skin on my chin and the bridge of my nose. I use Pond's Age Defying Moisturizer to moisturize the rough spots. I wash my face morning and night, and then I put the moisturizer on.

Hope I helped. I know that this won't help you gain clear skin in 1 day, but it should get it cleared up in at least 2-3 days!

Ringworm is not a worm, but a fungus infection of the genus Tinea. Ringworm of the scalp or beard should be referred to a health care professional for treatment.

Effective skin treatments are fungicides, so you can try topical creams that contain miconazole, clotrimazole, and/or gentamicin sulfate. If these do not work, or if you have other health issues, oral anti-fungal drugs are available by prescription.

Why are moles itchy?

well, they normally aren't. you can try to put an anti-itch cream on it, but make sure what you have is really a mole. It could be something infectious so wash your hands after you touch it. If you know for sure it is a mole (meaning you have had it since you were born), it could be growing which could cause itching. mole growth is also a sign of cancer. I would ask your doctor about that one because I have never heard of itchy moles before.

How can you get rid of an itchy rash that seems to be only on the arms and sometimes will blister in the beginning and eventually forms scabs?

That is a difficult question to answer without seeing the rash. Basically, you need to see a physician. It could be caused by a number of things- commonly perhaps an allergic dermatitis, eczema or scabies (an infection). These can all be treated. Itchy rashes are often helped by moisturising creams- E45, dermolol etc. but you may require specific treatment (e.g. for scabies) so you should see your doctor before self-treating.

Why do youths get more acne than adults?

Puberty and skin care are two reasons, but there are also times in adult development when the skin changes and people are more prone to acne. Some skin types produce more oil causing blackheads and pimples. Makeup and creams also may clog pores resulting in acne. Diet is also another cause. More young people eat junk and fast foods and the oils in these foods may result in acne. Skin care needs to start at an early age to prevent acne. Older people may take better care of skin because as we age it becomes drier and to prevent wrinkles people wash and use creams more often than younger people. All of these things are factors and in some cases there is also a genetic foundation for acne problems.
