Hi there, i'd definitely go to your GP or phone the hospital or midwife, they'll need to take a scan to see whats wrong, it could be a miscarriage or it could just be bleeding for no other reason. I had heavy bleeding at around 10 weeks and thought the worst so when i got an appointment at the hospital the following day to get an ultrasound you could imagine my amazement to see the baby there with a heartbeat, i was so relieved. I was told after my scan it was a clot and posed no serious threat and would probably disappear on its own. So good luck and get yourself down to that hospital or GP!!!

I have had spotting with all three of my pregnancies and the doctor always told me that if the spotting is bright red you need to call your doctor and be checked out. It may be fine but often they prescribe bedrest until it stops or do some testing to make sure the baby is still thriving. A call to your doctor would be wise and give you some peace of mind.

Not sure I have the answer for you, but a similar thing happened to me. I had terrible cramps 11 days into my cycle. I couldn't leave the loo. A small amount of thick red blood was produced, then that was it. It all happened in just a few hours. My period came early, on Day 20. I think it might have been something to do with my body being under more stress as I was on a diving holiday (had to lift and carry the tank and weights plus swimming lots). My doctor didn't seem worried - said just to return if my next cycle was unusual, which it wasn't.

Not sure exactly how long it lasts I would think about a week or two if you think that you are miscarrying get to your doctor immediately they may have to do a D&C dilate and cutterage which is where they scrape any of the remaining pregnancy out of your uterus so that your body will heal and be OK in the future if you are worried about anything talk to your doctor they will be able to answer your questions better than anyone on the internet since your doctor knows your medical history and is there to see how your body is reacting to the trauma it is going through hope everything turns out OK for you Good Luck and God Bless!!!

I had the same thing and my doctor said not to be to concerned unless there was tissue present or moderate to heavy bleeding.She said it is very normal to have some pink discharge and cramping in the very early stages of pregnancy. I would still ask my doctor if I were you though, just to be sure.... My doctor said that when your cramping its because you and the baby are dehydrated. You may have to get fluids via an iv. Also it is very important to drink plenty of water.
