Apparently many state governments have outlawed the use of naphtha for household use because it is a volatile organic compound (VOC) and can supposedly affect air quality. Of course, the idea that people cleaning spots has any affect on air quality is ridiculous, but this is what happens when government gets too much power.

The good news is that there are alternatives. You can still buy naphtha for use as a paint thinner. I assume it will work the same as Energine.

You can also buy Folex, which gets very good reviews as a spot remover.

Both are available at Amazon or at hardware stores like Lowes.

First you must know what type of ink it is. There are two type commonly in use today. Pigmented inks contain other agents that ensure adhesion of the pigment to the surface and prevent it from being removed by mechanical abrasion. These materials are typically referred to as resins (in solvent-based inks) or binding agents (in water-based inks). Dye-based inks are generally much stronger than pigment-based inks and can produce much more color of a given density per unit of mass. Once the proper solvent is found, soak the affected area with it and use a brush to scrub the spot and a shop vac to extract the fluid from the carpet. Failing that, you may try soaking the spot and scrubbing the area with a thick terry cloth towel.

There are also a number of commercial products such as "GooGone" and "Oxyclean" that have demonstrated good results.

I also would like to know if it worked. I have an In ground pool with calcium build up and I'm having problems removing it. If you get an answer please let me know, I have tried the acid it did not work, maybe because I was alittle to afraid, a pool company told me to be very careful and not leave it on to long.

In my experience, yes. Muratic acid dissolves hard water build up. However, it will also damage every substance it contacts beyond any repair. Including stainless steel, brass, tile, and glass. Pvc becomes brittle. A vinegar solution may be a better option to try instead of Muratic acid.

I live in Alabama the pool store told me to add 2 gallons of muratic acid to remove water mold then I broadcasted calsaum hardner and it cleared up the water no more water mold and I removed the ladder 2 months later and their is stainless steel bolts in the ladder and they were fine!

well when me and my friends were making potiens once we used a wooden spoon to mix it all together, stupid i know! anyways, we used hairspray, weird i know, but damp a flannel, cloth or tissue and quckiley swipe agaist the wood, in any action, slowly it will remove the nail varnish, hope that helps!:) good luck! <3

First remove any solids and gently blot up as much liquid as you can. Apply carpet stain cleaner (test on hidden part of carpet), and let sit for a few minutes. Use a clean, white, cloth and 1 teaspoon mild, non-alkali detergent and 1/2 pint lukewarm water to blot up the rest of the stain and cleaner. If the stain remains, try a solution of 1 tablespoon ammonia and 1 cup warm water to clean the area --again just blot, so you do not spread the stain.

Try renting a rug doctor, or you may have to call someone who cleans carpets.

Rub it with Goof Off on a rag and it will soften and come off. -I have tested Goof Off on 3 different types of hardwood flooring and it doesn't harm any.

Depends on how heavy the rust is. Light surface rust comes right off with 0000 steel wool and a good gun oil. Heavier rust may need the attention of a gunsmith.
