Stalking is the illegal activity of repeatedly directing unwanted attention to another person. It usually shows a mental or emotional problem in the stalker or criminal intent. Stalking can be following a person around, trying to talk to them or lingering outside their house, also threats or property damage. However, even sending messages or gifts to an unwilling recipient can be just as harassing and is also considered stalking.

- Signs of stalking is when the person stalking you seems to be everywhere you are; they may turn up at your school or workplace; they may continue to text or phone you; drive by your house; leave written messages. An individual who is being stalked may just have someone that truly loves them; is shy and just wants to look at them and be near them, but is too shy to approach them, but be wary because some people who follows a certain person around could be dangerous or harm that person being followed.
How do you overcome lonliness?
To be loved and to be cared for is universal need.
But physical intimacy is only temporary.

- A veiled threat is a sentence given to another that can have two meanings and be taken as information or a joke or a threat. Example: 'Now that I've told you my private secrets I may have to kill you' and the person laughs or on a more normal basis 'If I ever found someone going out with my girlfriend I'd kick the crap out of them so bad they would be in the hospital for a month.' If someone drives by your house every day to see if you are home is that stalking?
If you do not know the person then it can be dangerous and you should let someone know immediately that you are nervous about it. If it continues then you should try to get the license number of the vehicle and if you can't still report it to the police. If it is a person you know such as another student or coworker they may not be stalking you, but are too nervous to ask you out and trying to get up the nerve to come see you. On the other hand if you have just broken up with your boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife and they are driving by your home repeatedly then report it to the police and how often they drive by.

However, and depending on certain people that are obsessed with their victim or a stalker this piece of paper may not phase on them at all. Unfortunately, the police can do little until he shows some signs of aggression or harms you. Be very aware of your surroundings and try to go out with a friend or stay in groups of friends. If you drive do not park underground; always look in your back seat before getting into your car; once in the car lock your door immediately; do not park near vans or too far away from where you are going and try to leave a building or go into a building with a group of people and if you walk do not walk at night alone or even go for a jog alone and go with a friend. If you are out visiting a friend tell them you will phone when you get home and do so that your friends know if you do not call something is wrong. Change your phone numbers; locks if need be and do not leave any windows or sliding doors open. Never underestimate a person that is obsessed with you. If you find you are nervous staying alone stay with family or a friend for a few weeks in hopes the obsessed person will leave you alone.
How can I file a protective order against an individual whose physical address I do not know?
In short, you can't.
However, you can report the crime that you feel makes on necessary. And if that crime is pursued by the District Attorney, the police will be instructed to find him for purposes of questioning or arrest.
And at that point his address of record would be available.
