Pain during ovulatory times can come before while the follicle is filling with fluid, during while the follicle is actually rupturing to release the egg, or following due to the formation of the corpus luteum. At ovulation, the ovum (egg) is dropped into the tube where it awaits sperm. If sperm are on hand and penetrate the egg fertilization occurs. Your most fertile times are about 3 days before ovulation and the day after ovulation just to make sure you've got it covered. You can tell ovulation with the great new digital ovulation predictor kits they have out now, you should also see a change in your cervical mucus where it turns into an eggwhite consistency a few days before ovulation. That mucus is where the sperm will thrive. It provides a nice environment for the swimmers...they can feed off of the nutrients in it to make the journey up through the uterus thru the tube to the egg. I would say any of those three days leading up to ovulation and the actual ovulation day itself and you should have everything covered.

When you are pregnant and your uterus starts to expand it can cause some cramplike discomfort, both in your abdomen and your lower back. I spent the entire first trimester of both of my pregnancies with menstrual-like cramps, and everything was fine. It could indicate a pregnancy, however it could be something else. The only way to be sure is to pay your Doctor a visit ASAP!

This depends on many things, but most importantly, are you a female? If so, you may be experiencing "Mittleschmertz", which is a fancy term for pain during ovulation. If you're in the middle of your menstrual cycle, one of your ovaries is releasing an egg (ovum), and this can sometimes cause sharp, intermittent pain in the right or left lower abdomen (pelvic area). The side you feel it on depends upon which ovary is releasing the ovum (the right and left ovaries "take turns" each month!!). This is a harmless condition. You can try an over the counter pain killer such as ibuprofen. A heating pad placed on the lower abdomen may also be useful.

Signs of pregnancy are a missing period and positive pregnancy test. Lower back pain and pain in the abdominal region are not signs of pregnancy. See your healthcare provider for accurate diagnosis.

I find taking a bath usually helps. You could also eat or drink something, though some things will upset your stomach instead of soothing the pain. Warm milk is usually soothing, but different things work for different people.

There are too many ifs and buts regarding the abdomen and way too many organs that can be affected by numerous problems particularly if you're female. My sincerest advice is to get this checked out by a medic as it could be anything from as minor as trapped wind right up to a serious ectopic pregnancy. It seems to be easily resolved by lying on your stomach but has lasted more than a few days. It could be anything seek professional medical advice. It could be many possibilities, but before and during my menstrual period I get BAD stomach pains, they don't feel like regular period cramps, but it hurts so badly it brings me to tears. This is caused by pressure on your uterus, an easy way to relieve this is lie on your bed or the floor stomach down, and lift up the lower half of your body so that your head is on the flat surface but your rear is elevated. It alleviates the pressure and takes the pain away. But like the answer above me said, there are many possibilities and you should visit your doctor. God bless!
