Despite the departure from the realm of science into that of fiction, one might be compelled to conclude that since Superman can die outside a black hole, which he has numerous times, he should also be able to die inside one. Since the rules of the comic universes tend to require him to then come back to life through various convoluted and entertaining plot devices, a nod may be required to skilled writers which would manage to wrangle a situation allowing not only his reappearance but his escape from the clutches of the black hole, perhaps through faster than light flight, time travel, magic, etc., thus allowing the "near-invulnerable" Man of Steel to continue his crime-fighting career, almost every significant event of which documented in sentences subtended by an exclamation point!

Superman does not need gadgets like batman. He has super powers. He has super strength, speed, vision, and hearing. Lazer eyes, the ability to fly, freeze breath, heat vision, x-ray vision, super breath (different from freeze breath), and amazing memory. :)

My private theory is they acquired the parts which where lost when Batman turned it into the Batmissle. They had it rebuilt with new parts. The Penguin had blueprints. The discarded parts and blueprints were bought on the black market.

He was rescued by Superman, but the hair damage was already done, Had he worn a protective helmet like even a so-called shower helmet, it would not have happened. so the story goes, prior to the accident, Luthor was a promising scientist, after it, a mad scientist of criminal bent. He blamed Superman for his baldness.
