What is the Latin word for werewolf?
Lupus.
Lupus means "wolf." "Werewolf" is "versipellis" (skin-changer). This is the word Petronius used in his novel "The Satyricon," which was written by at least 66 A.D. and describes a man who turned himself into a wolf in the moon light (Satyricon 62). See Oxford Latin Dictionary or Lewis and Short. "Versipellis" often means "werewolf" but can mean "anyone who changes his/her form or shape."

What is the difference between a werewolf and a wolf?
A wolf is the ancestor of the dog, and is found mostly in the wild, and is a real animal. A werewolf is a myth, which is a half-man, half-beast (wolf), where the "werewolf" had hair all over the body, the teeth suddenly became sharp and pointy, and the werewolf only transformed during a full moon. A wolf and werewolf only have two things in common: they both have hair all over the body, and they have sharp teeth.
What are the supernatural elements in Christabel?
There are quite a few supernatural elements however it does seem that we know that there is evil lurking its just very hard to define.
Though we do get elements from the very beginning "Tis the middle of night by the castle clock,/ And the owls have awaken'd the crowing cock;" This has ominous tones and the idea of midnight, the owl and the cock are all supersticious symbols which give a uneasy feel to the audience. On top of that the reaction of Christabel to this uneasiness makes the audience more uneasy "Hush, beating heart of Christabel!/Jesu Maria, shield her well" and it is very surprising to find Geraldine, the "bright damsel...dressed in a silken white robe" instead of an evil monster. There are a few more things that i can mention too:
Seeing the number 1111 repeatedly may be a form of synchronicity, a meaningful coincidence often seen as a sign of spiritual awakening or being on the right path. Some believe it is a message from higher realms, encouraging you to pay attention to your thoughts and intentions to manifest positive changes in your life.

What are bad superstitions about butterflies?
There are some cultures that believe butterflies are inhabited by the souls of those who can not enter the after-life (heaven), others believe they are the souls of unborn children.
I have heard it said that seeing three butterflies together at one time is an omen of ill fortune. In England seeing a butterfly at night is an omen of a coming death. In some areas the first butterflies of spring were hunted down and killed to preserve the luck of the area. And at one time in Scotland witches were believed to be able to change into red butterflies.
The existence of guardian angels is a matter of personal belief and faith. In the Christian tradition, guardian angels are believed to be spiritual beings assigned to protect and guide individuals. Other belief systems and cultures also have similar concepts of protective spirits or angels, offering comfort and guidance to those in need.
In Greek mythology, Pegasus is often associated with being a symbol of wisdom and fame, and is generally depicted as a noble and benevolent creature. Pegasus is commonly seen as a positive figure, representing grace and beauty.
The term "medium" as applied in a paranormal context means a person with specific abilties. A medium is usally thought to be able to communicate with "discarnates". A discarnate is the name for an intelligent entity that has no physical body. The term parapsychologists use for this ability is "After Death Communication" or ADC. Persons who claim to be "psychic" generally are thought to have abilties including thought transference among living individuals (telepathy) or seeing, hearing or knowing about events (clairvoyance, clairaudience or clairsentience) in the present, past (retrocognition) or future (precognition). People who believe in survival of bodily death, such as Spritualists for example, say that mediumship proves that survival in fact occurs. While many examples of interesting "cross-correspondences" have been documented in which a single discarnate seems to have sent similar or related messages to several mediums that do not know each other, there is a logical problem proving mediumship and survival. It is possible that mediumistic communications are the result of ADC. But, putting aside fraud for the moment, it is also possible that precognitive or retrocognitive clairvoyance, clairaudience or clairsentience could also explain mediums' abilities. Suppose that had a deceased Aunt Edith. You went to a medium and you were told that your Aunt Edith was speaking. Suppose further that the medium told you some details about Aunt Edith such as a pet name she had for her husband which you did not know at the time. You checked after the sitting and discovered this was in fact correct. How might the medium have known this? Again putting aside fraud, the medium might have been in contact with Aunt Edith. However the medium might also have witnessed the moment that Aunt Edith and her husband Uncle Fred agreed on this word or the moment in the future when it was discovered from some other living family member that this information was correct. While the alternate explanations are almost as astounding as the notion of After Death Communication, they cannot be fully dismissed. To control for fraud in laboratory experiments, the sitter and medium are allowed no contact and do not even know each other in any way. Statements from sittings are often combined and sitters are asked to score the statements. Success occurs when a significant number of statements belonging to the correct sitters are recognized by those sitters from a larger comingled collection of statements. Guessing is controlled for by calculating the random chance expectation of guessing and determining if the medium's performance has exceeded that expectation, which in general it does.
What are superstitions about spilt salt?
Salt was valuable in ancient societies. It had a lot of symbolism and superstition attached to it. Salt was used as a preservative and came to symbolize life. It became a sign of hospitality, trust, and friendship because of its high price. Soldiers in Rome were often paid in salt, and that is where the saying that a person was "not worth his salt" originated. To spill salt then was an extraordinary waste and the superstition that claimed bad luck would visit anyone who spilt salt was invented specifically to deter this behavior. * If salt was spilt in a particular person's direction, bad luck was coming to that person. * Spilt salt should not be cleaned up but should instead by tossed over the left shoulder, into the face of the Devil. * Enough tears must be cried to dissolve the spilt salt in order to reverse the bad luck that was coming your way.
Can you become a werewolf by being bit by one?
There are many theories as to how one can turn into a vampire. In the Twilight Series the venom caused the change therefore a single drop would kill.
In most theories, a person must exchange blood with a vampire and then killed with their blood (the vampires) in them. Other theories say that a person must be drained of all their blood except for the last drop, which then they would need a bit of vampire blood to survive. In the end they all turn.

Being totally fictitious creatures, my answer would have to be no, vampires do not live in Missouri, or Nebraska, or anywhere else. The closest you're going to find is if there is a Goth living in the area that happens to wear vampire teeth cosmetic dental appliances.
Sorry, to be the bringer of bad news, but it looks like Edward from Twilight, isn't moving to Missouri anytime soon.
Vampires are often portrayed as dangerous because they typically feed on human blood to survive, posing a threat to people's lives. In many myths and stories, vampires have enhanced physical abilities and can be difficult to defeat, adding to their dangerous nature. Their eternal existence and predatory nature also contribute to their reputation as a threat to society.

How long have superstitions been around?
The very oldest pieces of writing talk about superstitions. It's highly likely that as long as human have been around, there've been superstitions. Homo sapiens sapiens (that's us) evolved about 400,000 years ago. The first superstitions are probably also from that period.
Answer
Not sure why this one got flagged as inflammatory or offensive (the mention of evolution maybe?) but I figured I'd throw my two cents in real quick: Superstition (religious/spiritual beliefs not recognized by the modern "big" religions as being real) is as old as mankind. As far back as we can go in the archaeological record there seems to be an unanimous use of amulets/totems/charms and as pointed out above, the earliest writings include practices that today, would be considered superstitious. It seems to just be an ingrained part of human nature.
In the First World Theory of 1978, Vampires were thought to have no eyes. But in recent history, sightings have suggested the evolution of the pupil. Their cravings of erythrocytes contained in the hemoglobin proposes that members of the Vampirus Anamelius Kingdom may perhaps go to great lengths to satisfy their thirst for the glucose sythetically produced in the blood stream. Hence, "spying" on their prey is not uncommon. Hope this helps.
There are two very famous witches in Greek Mythology - Circe, who lived in the island of Aeaea and turned men to beasts in the Odyssey, and Medea, the princess of Colchis who helped Jason and the Argonauts procure the Golden Fleece.
Undoubtedly, the most famous witch in literature of all time is Morgan LeFay. There are of course other magical beings in the Arthurian legends - the Lady of the Lake and Queen Mab of the Faeries, to name a few, but they were not quite considered witches, that is, if you define a witch as a mortal who practices sorcery, and not one who was born in the realm of magic and are naturally magical, such as those two mentioned above.
Can Banshees attack people and how?
In most stories, banshees are fairy spirits. The original spelling varies, such as bean shee, bean shith, and baoin sidhe. Most translate the phrase as woman of the mounds. Mounds in fairy lore were where fairy kingdoms could be found, especially if topped by oak, yew, ash, and especially rowan trees.
Descriptions of banshees vary, but typically, to see them is an omen of death. They are typically seen washing laundry at a river, trying to remove bloodstains of the fallen. To hear the wail of a banshee is supposed to be fatal to the listener.
Some describe the banshee as looking elven, with webbed feet, betraying their fairy origin. Others say they appear as beautiful elven women. A few later stories depict the banshee as the ghost of a woman who died either in childbirth, or from a great wrong committed by someone in the family who sees her.
One story says to avoid hearing the death wail, one needs to approach the banshee quickly, suck her breast and then claim to be a lost child. In Celtic and other traditions, kinslaying, that is, causing the death of someone related to you, was considered a very serious crime, and could result in being cursed and dying really horribly, and might even cause you to become a ghost. To avoid killing the mortal, the banshee would then treat that person well, and might even grant a magical gift to their "lost child."
The role-playing game, Dungeons & Dragons describes banshees as undead evil female elf spirits, but that is false. Seeing portents and omens are a large part of Celtic tradition (Irish, Scots, Welsh, Cornish, Breton, and Manx or from the Isle of Man). Another popular depiction of a banshee, though quite old now, is the Disney movie, "Darby O'Gill and the Little People." Wikipedia also has entries on this topic, as do many sites devoted to Celtic traditions and folklore. Kathryn Briggs was one of the foremost folklore researchers of recent times, and going to a library to find one of books on fairies is sure to be rewarding.

If a wizard dies what happens?
When a wizard dies, their magical essence dissipates and their spirit moves on to the afterlife, if one exists in the wizard's belief system. Any spells or enchantments they had cast may fade or unravel, depending on the strength of their magical imprint. Other wizards in their community may mourn their passing and they may be remembered in magical history or legends.
