Is it normal for surgical clips to be left in after gallbladder removal surgery?
Surgical clips are necessary when getting your gallbladder removed.
When your gallbladder is removed, it leaves an opening in your common bile duct. Normally this opening is where the liver pumps bile into for storage in the gallbladder. Since you no longer have a gallbladder, if this opening was not sealed with surgical clips, your liver would essentially be pumping bile into your abdomen.

Why usin sterile distilled water to irrigate wound after removing tumor?
Exposing the cell to a hypotonic solution can cause the cell to take on water and explode. Ideally, tumor cells take on the water and explode. Thus, there are fewer cells available to cause a recurrence of the tumor. Studies do not show that this is necessarily an effective technique, but in theory it would work.

How overweight should you be to get a gastric bypass?
Gastric Bypass surgery is not just an operation - it's a complete lifestyle change. Generally it's only advised when a patient is obese to the point that their obesity is causing other health problems, or preventing current health problems from getting better. Some examples of health problems that are improved by GB surgery are high blood pressure, Type 2 Diabetes, GERD (Reflux Disease), etc.
After having the procedure, since will be limited as to how much food you can physically eat, your lifestyle will have to change dramatically, and you'll have to adjust to it for the rest of your life. Like other procedures that can be reversed, GB is permanent once done. And contrary to popular belief, you can in fact gain weight again after having it.
With GB surgery, there are also many risks involved, as well as the many side effects after surgery as the body reacts to the rapid weight loss over the months following the procedure. Mood changes, hair loss, temperature intolerance, body aches, etc. are just a few.
The most significant risk is of course death, with a 1 in 200/300 chance of dying, depending on age and health (and apparently insurance - Medicare patients tend to be at higher risk of death. Hmm...).
Others are mineral deficiency, gallstones, kidneystones, stomach ulcers, and others much worse, like blood clots.
The other thing not noted in many (if any) information concerning GB is plastic surgery. If you are severely obese, GB will drop your weight considerably, to the point that extra skin from being obese will literally be hanging off of your arms, legs, stomach, etc. One of my friends had GB done about 15 years ago, and he lost 300 lbs. But the amount of skin hanging off of him was incredible, and it took several operations to take care of that. I've not seen that reported - can't imagine why......
Wilson-Phillips singer (and Brian Wilson's daughter) Carnie Wilson did discuss the skin problem publicly in her People magazine interview after her GB surgery. She is one of the more famous people to have had the procedure and talk about it openly, and to give others advice and support on the subject. Conversely, it's also her and Al Roker's procedures being public that have since raised the procedure by the media as a 'cure-all" for obesity. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Ref: Mayo Clinic, Gastric Bypass: What to Expect More input To qualify for this type of weight loss surgery you need to be 'morbidly obese.' This usually means being overweight by 80 pounds if you are female or 100 pounds if you are male. In addition, your Body Mass Index (BMI) must be 40+. In other cases (whether male or female), surgery may be agreed to if you are 80 pounds overweight, with a Body Mass Index of 35+, and have an obesity-related condition such as type 2 diabetes or life-threatening conditions such as obesity-related heart disease or severe sleep apnea. (The above criteria may differ slightly from country to country.)

Michael Jackson's first documented facial surgical procedure was a simple Dermatological rejuvenation. Michael Jackson had a history of bad acne which started around 1972. The rejuvenation surgery was dated May 20th, 1979. This was before his first major solo record (off of Motown) "Off the Wall", and many believe this was so he could look his absolute best before the debut of the album.
Michael Jackson's first documented plastic surgery was when he had gotten his nose repaired after breaking it in a mistake during dance Rehearsal. How much will a horse's OCD surgery cost?
It can vary greatly. Some surgery can be done at your local vet's clinic. But more complicated problems must go to a larger hospital. So it can be anywhere from a few hundred to thousands of dollars. Also discuss with your vet about the dangers of horses under general anesthetics. And wherever you take your horse you will need to talk about finances with them. When your horse is sick or injured that last thing you want to worry about is money. Unfortunately the hospital or vet that you take him to will what proof of payment.

What is the use of laproscopic surgery?
The advantages over open surgery are serveral: patients have less pain as they have a few small scars instead of 1 big one, so they generally require fewer revalidation afterwards. Disadvantages are that you can't do everything laparoscopic, it is easier to miss a few things, it costs more, and demands more technical skills from the surgeon. In general, the outcome of for example appendic removal laparoscopic vs open are disputed. Both have good results, though the laparoscopic might do better the first days after surgery. After 2 weeks, most research shows no difference. As a rule of thumb, it's best to let the surgeon decide what he/she thinks is best, and what he/she can do best.
Pyloroplasty is a surgical procedure to widen the opening in the lower part of the stomach (pylorus) so that the stomach contents can empty into the small intestine (duodenum).
The pylorus is a thick, muscular area. When it thickens, food is not able to pass through.
See: Pyloric stenosis
Alternative NamesPyloromyotomy; Pyloric stenosis repair; Pyloroplasty
DescriptionThe surgery is done while you are under general anesthesia (asleep and pain-free). The surgeon makes a cut around the belly button or in the upper right part of the belly. If the surgery is done laparoscopically, three smaller cuts are used.
The surgery involves cutting through some of the thickened muscle to relieve the narrowing (stenosis). The cut through the muscle is then closed horizontally to keep the pylorus open and allow the stomach to empty.
The surgery usually takes 1 - 2 hours.
Why the Procedure Is PerformedPyloric stenosis is caused by a thickened pylorus muscle. It is usually found in infants.
Pyloroplasty is the only effective treatment for pyloric stenosis. It may also be used to treat certain patients with peptic ulcers or other types of gastric disease that cause a blockage of the stomach opening.
RisksRisks of anesthesia include the following:
Risks of any operation include the following:
Risks of this procedure:
Most patients make a complete and quick recovery. The average hospital stay is 2 - 3 days. Most patients can gradually return to eating a regular diet in a few weeks.
Outlook (Prognosis)After surgery, the health care team will monitor your breathing, blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate. Most patients can go home within 24 hours.
The results after pyloroplasty are excellent.

Will I need surgery for disc degeneration at C5-6 And 7 with severe bilateral stenosis?
NO I REPEAT NO i have hernatied idsc on the lumber 4 and 5 large hernations and my scaitca nerve all the way down my left leg i had the option for surgery but i got the epdruil injections it toke two times but i feel great surgery is not worth it cause they can revese what they cut ok?
Chiropractic should be your first stopSurgery is the last resort...always. You can't unboil a hard boiled egg. Surgery is permanent. Epidural injections will only mask the pain, they don't fix the cause. Thousands and thousands of people, every year, are able to reverse disc bulges by chiropractic care. These guys fix the problem at the biomechanical root. Pain relief is just a pleasant side effect. If your son is so young, then his body should have no problems making a great recovery.
Why not try a conservative, non-invasive approach first. Go more radical if your results aren't made. Too many people try an easy, conservative means after heavy drugs and expensive surgeries have left them back at square one.
im 20 yrs old, i had a buldgeing disk at l5 s1 and it hurt so bad i did the epidural injections as well i did a series of 3. the first one was worthless. the second one was for my sciatica nerve for my left leg pain and it helped, but my back pain was unbearable. the 3rd injection i had, i got 6 shots he was hitting every joint and the disc and he also hit the nerve one more time cause my leg pain had came back. then i went to a place where they hook you up to a machine and pull you apart to try and relive the pressure off the discs but that didnt help at all it made it worse. i had done physical theropy it made it worse. i just recently had a L5 S1 fusion and i feel great. its a whole different type of pain, the pain is from the surgery but other than the whole back pain its gone except where they cut and put the rods and screws. i was offered a artificial disc replacement but they only last about 10-15 years and then a fusion is required after that. this is what my doctor told me. but definantly surgery is last resort. if he can bear the pain then let him. i suggest the injections most definantly!!!
